Chapter 2

            Marriage.

How did one sunny afternoon walk become a marriage proposal? Wait, not a marriage proposal. A business proposal. Marriage to a stranger. Could she really do it? It was only for a year and her college loans would be paid and five million! Who would pass that up? But somehow it still felt like she was selling her body to him. He was a prince! Why did he want to marry her out of all the females who would surely be adoring him and wanting to get into his bed? With looks like that, just one wink and any willing female would fall, what more marriage? Why her?

And marriage equaled sex. Would he expect her to have sex with him? They definitely had chemistry, evident with what happened at the café. The short moment that he held her hand, she had felt need rocketing through her body. She knew he was affected too. It had been so long since she last had sex. About...2 years? The last guy she had been with was Tommy, her second boyfriend. He worked with her at a boutique that sold male and female clothes. She thought her relationship with him would last but he could not put up with her need to work at many places to earn money to go to college, so they broke up. He never understood why she wanted to go to college.

Could she really have sex with him? Annabelle was frustrated. He might not even want to have sex with her. So what if he was affected by her too? He might not want to act on it. She needed to think through this with a clear mind, not think about his hot body against hers, bringing her mindless pleasure. She was thinking about sex with him – again. Groaning, she sunk into her couch, her mind running. Before she knew it, she was fast asleep.

When she woke up, the apartment was dark. What time was it? Annabelle quickly looked at her watch. Six p.m. Only an hour left. Was she really going to marry the crown prince of Arandia? She hasn't even googled him. She quickly booted up her laptop and logged into her account. Pulling Google up, she typed in his name and waited for the page to load.

She saw pictures. Loads of pictures of him with blondes, brunettes, and many other females. Ignoring the pictures, she quickly clicked the link leading her to Wikipedia. She crossed check what was on Wikipedia with the documents she had received from him earlier. Reading through, she read that he had a sister, who was currently married to another sheikh. They also had a picture of his parents. His father exuded power and confidence. Two characteristics that Rashiq definitely had inherited. It also said that he had a fiancée, a princess of a neighbouring country called Satrin. A fiancée? Then, what was her role in all this?

The clock showed six thirty p.m. Annabelle quickly changed her clothes and left her apartment. Even if she wasn't going to marry a cheating prince, she wanted answers. Did he think she was some sort of joke? Take the poor girl for a ride and at the end of the day just pass it off as a 'Just kidding!' joke? She was not going to be taken for a fool. Quickening her footsteps towards the church, she reached just as the minute hand pointed at six forty-five p.m. Good. She had fifteen minutes to get some answers.

            She was early.
