Everything was in place. Just a little more time. I was grinning like a Cheshire cat. Jackson had just finished telling me how readily the alphas and other higher ups had accepted our plan for getting rid of the rogues with minimal loss of life. They would go for it of course. All we did was revamp the old plan that had been in place during the rogue difficulties years ago. The part about Rody and his special contingent of trained fighters training other packs was genius. The only one who hadn’t agreed was Vince, and let’s be honest, his pack didn’t need it. They were in a compound, and even if they weren’t their training system was so good no rogue would even think of crossing his lands on accident. His pack had set up a chain of command so solid it was unbreakable. Everyone was trained, and everyone had their designated job in case of trouble. And everyone knew their job.
Attacking him was out of the question. If they were a little less trained I could attack, take him out, take over his pack and Laurel would be mine. But it wouldn’t work like that. Instead we had to infiltrate.
There was a knock and Amber poked her head in. She looked more vibrant than I had ever seen her.
“Dominic there is someone here to see you.”
She moved to the side and in walked Jensa. She looked fantastic in jeans and a tshirt. Casual but she pulled it off. She nodded to Jackson then turned to me.
“You said you had a plan to get me close to Vince? What is it?”
You see she had been trying to get into the compound to see him but she was turned away every single time. She wasn’t allowed to even come within five feet of the walls. I smiled. All coming together.
“You join our pack, we will be placed to get you close to him very soon.”
“No more than three months Jensa.”
She smiled with an excited light in her eyes. She nodded her agreement.
I sent a mental note to Jackson. “Make sure the men know she is off limits. No leering, no comments. If she is shown anything other than a pack trying to build itself up I will massacre the fuckers.”
All coming together.
Laurel was out of control. She was on a rampage with the cleaning and everything. Myself, LJ , and Anthony had gotten away on the pretense of keeping LJ out of her hair and showing him to fish. I mean come on. He is only three months old. He cant fish. But she let us go.
What is the big deal you ask? My parents are coming home. They want to meet Laurel and LJ. And my mom is dying to help with wedding plans. I smiled at that thought. I’m getting married to my mate. Laurel was the one man!
Either way, pregnancy hormones and the fact that Laurel felt pressured about meeting my parents had driven her to a frenzy. My brothers blamed me.
I heard rustling behind me and turned to see Aubrey and Andrew high tailing it towards us. They both had strange mixtures of panic and relief on their faces. They plopped down by us at the edge of the lake.
“Whooo! Almost didn’t make it man!”
“I know, she is flipping crazy!”
I growled and all heads looked my way.
“You all are talking about my mate, fiancé, and baby momma. Show some respect!”
Overly dramatic? Yes. But that’s how it is with mates and I was ten times more protective of Laurel now that she was pregnant. Aubrey rolled his eyes at me.
“Shut your emotional ass up. I swear I don’t know which of you is more moody. If you really felt that Laurel was being reasonable why are you at the lake instead of helping your fiancé, baby momma, and mate ready the house for the arrival of our parents. You are the one that should be there getting reamed. “
