It's said we are always given one more chance. We are always given a second try at things. People can always make a mistake, so why not try and fix it? But when is it really called the 'last' one? No one ever stops giving them... so when is your final last chance?
Their never really gone, no one has taken them from us, no. What ever we desire is still there. It's more we give up on them. We see something else, and our eyes are drawn away. Sadly, our second chance is not gone but forgotten and our mind has failed to try and achieve what we once sought and desired.
Now look at where we stand. We stand our backs to a cliff. Not cornered, no, but a sight that we can't turn around to. We think that our chance has passed us by and as we look back we see a sight that we can no longer reach. Something gone and now only forward lasts, and each step we take the cliff behind us crumbles. As though the edge is following us. Making sure we do not dare and step back. If we do we fall. Fall into a tumble, that grows bigger and bigger. So when we finally run out of places to walk, and force to look back one more time... all we end up doing is taking that last step down... down to the rocky bottom....
But again i say no. I say jump and if you wish to go back, then go. Who's to know where you'll truly land? Who's to say that we can't go back and fix things? And instead of the cliff falling behind us it builds. Each step we take, each unavoidable step in any direction not be defined by the picture behind us but by the picture we wish to create?
I look forward and see clouds, a haze of sorts. I look back and see an ocean of misery. And an ocean of happiness. Now i take a dive, close my eyes... and wait for the splash...
