Saving Aidan

 I shook my head and said, “You don’t ever have to leave if you don’t want to. You’re part of my pack, Abby. You can always live with me.”

Abby beamed and then threw her arms around my neck. She hugged me and then pulled away, saying, “So what were you talking about?”

I gulped and then said, “I- I- I . . . you’re- you’re- you’re . . . . We’re mates!”

I quickly looked into her eyes to prep myself for her reaction and I was shocked at the fury I saw in her eyes. She hissed, “Is this some kind of joke? The big bad Alpha thinks it’s funny to screw with the girl whose make fucking rejects her?!”

I winced and then shook my head. I said, “Abby I swear we’re mates. I swear.”

She looked at me suspiciously for a few seconds until then she had a calm expression on her face. She sighed and then clenched her left hand into a fist and socked me in the jaw.

She screamed, “You asshole! How dare you let me think I was fucking abandoned and wondering if I was good enough or not! Or if I had something wrong with me! You . . . you . . . you JERK!”

Abby stormed out of the room and I sighed running after her. She sprinted down the stairs and I jumped off the landing, ignoring the stairs. Abby turned and ran into Bree and Alex. Alex looked at Abby for a second and then turned to me.

He said, “So I see you told her. Told you she’d be pissed.”

I hissed, “Shut the fuck up, Alex,” at the same time Abby screeched, “You knew?! Who else knew, huh? Did the fucking hobo living in the trashcan on Waverly find out that my damn mate didn’t want me too?!”

She pushed past them and slammed into Willow. Willow pushed her away and said, “Watch it, slut.”

 Abby stumbled and before I could blink, Abby had grabbed Willow by her throat and slammed her into the wall. I watched, stunned, as Abby growled out, like an Alpha female, “I am not a slut and if you knew what was good for you then I would show some respect for people of higher rank than you, pup. It would be wise to remember that.”

Abby let go of Willow and I watched as Abby turned towards me with her obsidian eyes and snarled. My eyes widened and I said, “Abby . . . are you challenging me?”

Abby smiled at me without feeling and said, “Abby’s not here anymore, Aidan. I am her wolf. Thanks oh so much for making me feel rejected. You’re lucky that Abby is begging me not to ban you from marking me.”

She turned her cute little nose up at me and then the black receded from Abby’s eyes. No one made a move as Abby’s face contorted into a shocked and horrified expression. She slowly backed towards the backdoor and I ran across the room just as she sprinted out the door and ran into the damn woods. Again.

I sighed and then sprinted after her. My wolf liked this more than I would have liked at the moment and I had to admit, I loved watching her ass sway as she sprinted. God, this girl was going to kill me. I threw myself onto her and rolled so I took the brunt of the force as we fell.

Abby landed onto my stomach and the breath rushed out of her lungs. She gasped, “Damn, you have some hard abs.”

I smirked at her and then she frowned at me. She whispered, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

I sighed and said, “I thought you wouldn’t be able to handle it. I mean, there has never been a human Alpha female for centuries and it’s because they crack easily. I never wanted you to have a break down like they did. I just wanted you to be safe. I still do.”

Abby nodded and said, “Aidan . . . I want a mate. I really do. I want it so bad that it hurts. I just . . . you can’t leave me. You just can’t. I wouldn’t be able to take it.”

I nodded and said, “So does this mean that you’ll try with me?”

Abby hesitated a second and then nodded. I grinned and then hugged the living daylights out of Abby. She hugged me back and then pushed me away with a serious look on her face.

She said, “You ever lie to or omit something from me and I’ll shop your balls off and feed them to you. Capiche?”

I loved the way her lips looked as she said that. Even if she was threating to cut off my manly parts.

I sighed and said, “Say it again.”

Abby frowned and said, “Say what?”
