I'LL STOP STABBING WHEN YOU STOP SCREAMING.

Chapter 5 ; Section 3.

Turners Point of view.

"Cora!" I yelled her name again. "You have to get up! Please get up!" She didn't move or make a sound. They did it, they killed her. I shook her again. I leaned my head over her mouth and heard that she was breathing faintly. Hope Arose in me. I scooped her body up gently and help her in my arms like a baby. I moved quickly and carefully towards the stairs, knowing I had to get her out of here. "It's going to be okay." I whispered again and again, unsure whether I was reassuring her, or myself.

I moved down the final flights of stairs silently and when I burst through the door I knew we were going to get out. I was finally going to be free. No one would control me anymore. I was going to be free! I would run, and I would never look back.

' I moved cautiously threw the dim hallway and realized that it was eerily quiet and there was obviously something very wrong with this picture. I shifted Coraline's weight and held her tighter against me. I hated to admit it but a part of me wished I would have left her behind. I looked around slowly and knew that I was in a lobby, and that it must have been early morning because it was empty. This place looked so normal, If only everyone knew that they were keeping people against their will only a couple floors above them... I wonder what the world would think.

I moved to the desk in one corner of the room and shuffled through all the papers. I couldn't get past how normal it all looked. Meetings with important people, lunch dates, office parties. Every Formal piece of paper Stamped With "Harborville Studies." To bad the world didn't know that the studies were run on kidnapped Humans fully against their will. It's also Too bad that I didn't care enough to expose that nasty little fact.

I pushed all the papers and office supplies from the desk and laid Coraline down Gently. I pushed the hair from her forehead and felt sweat beading up. I reached down for her wrist and felt for a pulse. I took me a couple minutes to find the right place but when I felt her pulse I knew it was horribly faint. "Hold on Cora, It's going to be alright." I whispered into her ear "I'm going to get you out of here."

I couldn't imagine why, but she looked so beautiful, to me, in that moment. More peaceful than she had looked since the moment she barged into my room and changed the course of my life. I would have stayed in this place until I died if not for her. She saved me, and now I was going to save her. I pulled her hand up to my lips and kissed it gently before standing up and walking towards a door marked with a bathroom sign. I walked in carefully and glanced around. I didn't see anymore or anything so I moved to the sink on edge.

I grabbed a bunch of brown paper towels and washed my face and hands, before grabbing a couple more and getting them damp for Cora. I jumped when suddenly one of the stall doors flew open and I saw a man standing in the shadows, threw the mirror. I turned around quickly, and fought to keep my calm.

"She's going to die Turner," The man stated simply, his voice monotone. "Unless you get her to a hospital within the next, oh, I don't know," He pulled His wrist up and glanced at an invisible watch. "twenty minutes." The man walked from the shadows and the first thing I noticed was that he didn't have a hood on. His gray hair and bushy eye brows told me that he was old and I could kill him easily. I didn't enjoy the idea of killing another man, but I knew my time was running out.

"Tell me how to save her, or your going to die in the next, oh, I don't know," I shrugged my shoulders. "three minutes."

"Oh Turner." The old man made a clicking noise with his mouth and I looked into his crystal colored eyes. "If You kill me, what are you going to get out of it? Another murder on your hands? It won't help you save her, or yourself. You're pathetic Child."

Something snapped within me and I lunged at him, wrapping my hands tightly around his wrinkly throat. He didn't even fight back, and I knew he was toying with me. I wanted to kill him so bad in that moment, but I knew it wouldn't do anything in the long run. I pulled him out of the stall and threw him to the floor. He curled into a fetal position and started to cough.

"Tell me how to save her!" I growled through my teeth, standing over his weak body. He laughed Menacingly.

"Or what, You'll me?" He laughed harder, pushing himself off the ground. I stared at him in disgust.

"I can do much worse things than just kill you." I threatened. "Tell me!" I Saw a glimpse of fear flash through his eyes, and then humor. He didn't believe me. I'd prove it. "Last chance, old man. Tell me how to save her." I said calmly.

"She has merely Fifteen minutes remaining, and your wasting your time talking. The poison is swimming in her veins." He stood up tall, and smiled brightly at me. "I can't wait until her heart stops beating." I wasn't going to play any longer. I pulled my Arm back, and as soon as my fist connected with the mans face he fell to the floor. I stepped over his limp body and ran out to Coraline's side.

I picked her body up quickly and held her tightly as I ran towards the glass towards. Freedom was staring me in the face. I ran faster, and I pushed hard on the doors, knowing they would be locked. I laid Coraline down Gently and ran over, picking the desk chair up and carrying it over to the door. I lifted it above my head and paused when I heard the intercom beep.

"Don't do it Turner, or you will die." I laughed at the useless threat.

"I'll die if I stay here!" I screamed throwing the chair, and shattering the doors. I picked Cora up, and ran quickly into the night.
