Chapter Twenty Two

* ~*~*
Ella:

Walking in on Billie and Joey messing around; I couldn't believe four years had gone so fast. Joey chuckling as I say "Billie, could you help clean up some of these toys?" Watching as he picks up a cowboy hat and looking over to Joey giving him a nod as he shouts "She's a witch!"

Hearing his little voice "Hands up lady!"

Putting my hands in the air as Billie handcuffs me and sits me on a chair; Joey climbing aside as Billie points a toy gun at me, the pair of them saying in unison "Tell us where the sweeties are!"

"Never!"

Billie giving him the look as he says "You leave us no choice, tickle her buddy."

His little fingers wriggling at my side laughing uncontrollably; gasping as he says "Oh no, she got me...I'm turning into a monster." Picking him up and swinging him around. The room quietening down as Billie says "How about we take you to a very special place?"

Joey nodding with a huge grin as he runs into the hall smiling at Billie as we go to the car. Parking at the familiar spot and walking down the familiar path; Joey looking around "Is this the special place?"

Billie smiling "Yep and you wanna know why it's so special?"

"Why?"

"Because this is where it all started, on this exact path."

"What did?"

"The story of our lives."

Grinning like a prat as he looks up at me.

Billie:

Pulling her into a hug and kissing her cheek; watching Joey run down the path as I say "He's gonna grow up to be a decent chap like me." She nudges me; Joey running back over covered in mud and scraped knee, Ella undoing her coat and kneeling down "Good job I brought these." She smiles pulling plasters from her pocket and patch him up; wiping away his little tears.

Joey looking at her belly, I ask "What's up bud?"

"Has mummy eaten too many sweets?"

Raising an eyebrow before following his line of vision, I say "Oh she ate them alright it's either that or..."

Giving her a look as she nods, scooping him up "Well Joey looks like your gonna need a bigger room."

Glancing up at Ella, life may not have gone to plan but I wouldn't have it any other way.
