Two weeks, Sean had been counting every day. It was two weeks ago when she vanished and never came back, never called—he wasn’t sure if she was even coming back. Everything unfortunately went back to normal for him, except his eyes. His eyes were still two large black balls surrounded by tiny white rims, the black balls shrunk so slightly over the past weeks most wouldn’t notice the difference. People tended to avoid him in the hall and rumors spread, rumors that he never heard of until Lilly and her presence disappeared.
The only remains that he could find of Lilly were the constant disappearances of people being reported around the country, but he wasn’t even sure if those were her—he could only assume. Problem was that Lilly was good—each kill was so distant from the other it was impossible to track down where she actually was at the moment. He wished he could see her again, comfort her in this difficult time. She left him quite suddenly with little to no reaction; did the attack on her in the park really take that much of an effect? What did the large man she killed tell her? He could only guess at answers. But there was really nothing he could do so life went back to normal, well as normal as someone could get with abnormally black eyes. School, homework, sleep, and start over—without her he had nothing.
He raised his hand in his fourth period History class, he was thinking of her again. He had to go to the bathroom, well more-so get away from the class for a few moments. He took his familiar route to the far bathroom on campus to take up more time, winding around several bends and turns in the halls. He noticed the school janitor sitting outside of the bathroom with a mop, the man wasn’t moving—he just watched Sean as moved towards the door. Sean tried not to glance over as the janitor’s eyes followed him as he entered the restroom. Odd.He entered the bathroom, the door slowly shut behind him. Sean heard something push up against the door as the lock snapped shut.He looked at the door as a thin streak of black smoke unraveled around his face. Sean spun around and looked into the bathroom; all he saw was dissipating smoke. Lilly?
Two hands pressed up against his back and shoved him deeper into the bathroom. He stumbled forward a few feet before turning around again, facing back towards the door. Once again, nothing. What’s going on?“Lilly?” He tried out loud wondering a bit further into the restroom. He glanced over the three sinks and single large mirror to his left, the three stalls to his right and the couple of urinals he could see behind the stalls in front of him. He took another step in as two hands spawned out of black smoke and pushed him again, this time throwing him into the first stall.
The lights above flickered then shut off. Sean, now frightened and unsure if it was Lilly anymore, struggled to maintain his footing by pressing against the stall spun towards the entrance in an attempt to escape. The hands wouldn’t allow it. They pressed against his chest again, throwing him on top of the toilet causing him to stumble over it and land on top. Before they were able to vanish once again he was finally able to catch a glimpse of the hands. They were pale and fairly small. They looked like woman’s hands. Sean heard a distant click of the bathroom door being unlocked as the stall door swung itself shut.
At last his attacker appeared fully in front of him. Lilly. She looked at him with an unknowing and confused expression. It was almost as if she didn’t know who he was. She had her black jacket on, a pair of dark denim jeans and a light hood masking her hair. “Oh hey Lilly, you trying to scare me?” Sean questioned, getting up from his spot on the toilet and taking a step forward. He was relived it was just her, someone he could trust.
Lilly tilted her head and opened her mouth lightly licking one of her four fangs. Sean knew that look. He’d seen it several times before. It was the look she gave a person before she killed them. “Lilly, no.” Sean said taking a step back, concerned, but was unable to sink back much further. With her speed and power she lunged for Sean and grabbed his neck, knocking him up against the far wall above the toilet. Tightening her grip, she lifted him above the filthy toilet and pushed him against the blue and white tiled wall.
