Prologue - Secrets of the Past

" MOM! " I screamed as I saw a creature leap on top of her and begin snapping it's jaws at her throat in the kitchen. The kitchen seemed to be covered in blood and the glasses that usually were neatly on the rack next to the cabinets were separate and shattered. The creature snapped it's head towards me giving me a view of it's Dark yellowish red eyes, saliva was pouring down from it's mouth, and a scar that seemed to go from the top of it's eye brow all the way down to it's cheek.  The creature growled at me and slowly got up from my unconscious mother and walked slowly towards me. I was frozen in fear, I couldn't move, it was like I was caught in a trance with no way of snapping out of it.  The creature looked to be smiling at me and I could have sworn I heard it laugh. I began to panic and I didn't know what to do, just when I thought I was done for I  saw my mother come up behind the creature with a skillet and bash its over the head and sending it across the room knocking into the chairs around the white tables mom had bought last month. Mom then turned to me with fear in her eyes and what looked to be like sadness, but much more determination.

" You must go! " she yelled at  me.

" No, " I said. " I won't leave you or the others."

"You have to" she said. Jumping at the creature before it got up fully from beside the table. "Go get your brothers and sisters and run as far from here as you can."

She knocked the creature up against the cabinets when it flipped her off of him, it yelped in pain, and I saw what looked to be a tattoo of some sort on its shoulder, but I didn't have time to ponder what it meant before mom started back yelling at me.

" My Little Cher, I love you never forget who you are" She said with a tear running down her eys. " GO NOW! " She yelled it with so much force that it caught me off guard. I turned and ran down towards the storage room when the creature jumped in my pathway, but the second it got their it was quickly knocked away by mom. She had a murderous look on her face and her eyes were the color of red and black. I cringed in horror.

" Go Now! " she yelled once more.

I ran right out of there, I checked the storage room, but there was no one in there. I quickly ran down the hallway to baby Kloresseas' room to her carriage. My breath caught in my throat, she was riped to pieces; a foot or hand lay at the left corner of the crib and the rest everywhere else. I stepped back in horror only to find the body of my brother Demetrius or what was left of him. His face was contrasted in a strange way and his eyes, eyes that looked up at me in horror. I ran out of the room and into Arcaveons which was next door, but he wasn't there, so I ran into my sister Sabrina's' room only to find they weren't there either. Thinking that the only place that they could possibly be; I ran outsid,e past the brown gates, and to the shed, I was relieved to see that they were OK.

" You guys we have to go, now. " I said. When Arcaveon and Syliria just stared at me I said it once more " We have to Foute ton quant d'ici now, mom said so! "( Get away from here now! )

They were trembling all over, but despite that they nodded their heads and started walking out of the shed, once they did they both looked up and stopped wide eyed. I felt myself flying across the yard against the fence then darkness fell over me.

I woke up to find mom and my oldest sister Sabrina fighting off two creatures. I looked to see where Arcaveon and Sylria, and when I spotted them they were both lying face down on the ground not moving. Before I knew it I was on the ground beside them checking their pulses. I flipped Syliria over and checked her pulse, but their seemed to be no signs of life. I checked Arcaveon, there seemed to be a faint heartbeat; relief filled me, but the pulse was weak, I had to get him to a hospital and fast. I gathered him up in my arms and started towards the road.

I couldn't see a car so I just kept walking. I don't know how long or how far we walked, but it seemed to go on forever. There was a snap of a twig behind us so I quickened my pace. The sounds behind us seemed to be getting closer and closer until we could most definitely hear it breathing. I laid Arcaveon down on the ground and I turned towards whatever it was and prepared to fight. Instead of a yellowish/brown eyed creature I was met with a man, but he was just any man, he was a very handsome man. He Had jet-black hair, that was wavy and long that it came down to his shoulders and what amazed me was his muscularity, For a moment I felt relieved and safe, but when I looked at his mouth I realized that they were covered in blood, I gasped in shock. The man smiled and took a step closer, I knelled down and took Arcaveon back into my arms. My first priority was that I had to get him somewhere safe and get him help, I couldn't lose him now now not Ever! I backed up putting more space in between us and the man.
