(A/N: The first few chapters are a little bit short, but this is just when you meet the characters. Also, on the side is a picture of Gracie.)

Gracie's POV

I didn't really like living with Ellen. However, at this point, I don't have an option. Ellen was my friend from grade school. She was the person I could trust with anything, my shoulder to cry on, and the only person I would ever want to share my happiness. She was like my gardian angel, and I loved her like she was my own sister.

I still love her, but over the years, she's become more of a job than a friend. She moved in with me two years ago when her parent's died. Since then, her mental awareness has been spiralling downhill, and these last two days, she's been rock bottom. I was almost afraid to walk back into the livingroom. Never the less, she'd be cranky without her medication.

I've taken Ellen to every doctor in the state, every psycyatrist, and they have all diagnosed her with something different the last. She's currently on 6 different meds, and I don'e believe they're helping. They just seem to make her more agitated. It's such a shame. She's absolutly gorgeous. I would be jealous if it weren't for her temper.

   "Gracie!" she shrieked.

"I'm coming hun," I said meekly as I forced my feet to move towards the living room. I saw her sitting on the couch hugging her knees to her chest as she rocked back and forth, mumbling somthing to herself.

"What's wrong?" I asked shakily. This wasn't out of the ordinary for her, but usually it helped her to talk. She lifted her head. Just enough for me to see her eyes. I took a step back. They were dark. Darker than usual. Her hair almost seemed a shade darker than it's usual blonde too.

"You wouldn't get it," she growled.

"Ellen, I'm your best friend, you can-"

"No! Your not! I know you hate me! And you know what? I hate you too!" As she was screaming, I got a glimps of her teeth, now razor sharp and pearly white.

I tried to protest but I didn't have time. She jumped off the couch and ran towards me. The glass of water slipped out of my hand, and smashed against the floor, along with the pill. My surroundings suddenly slowed down, and I froze, unable to move. My heart rate slowed, and I was struck with fear.

She grew closer. And closer. And closer. I was still stuck in the ground, my feet like cinder blocks. Suddenly, I felt a yank on my hair, and I was face to face with her. There was a sick smile across her face, and her now beady black eyes stared into me.

Her hand snapped up and she slapped me across the face, her long nails skimming my skin, making me bleed and fall to the floor.

"When will you fools learn?" She asked smiling sickly, and put her foot on my chest. She held out her hand once again, and I cringed in fear, waiting for another strike, but she just held her hand there. Then, a bright ball apeared, floating above her hand. Fire. She can make fire. The flames consumed her body, licking up her arms and legs, reflecting in her beady eyes.

"Now you'vedone it," she said, and lounged at me. She grasped both of my hands. The burning sensation was awful, and I felt my clothes catch. My body seized up, and I let out one last agonizing scream before I went.   That was the last thing I remeber.
