I threw the nearest thing I could grab at him and he smirked. “You know it’s true.”

“I’m leaving,” I said, standing up. I went out to the living room/kitchen and hopped up on the counter.

“And for dinner we’re having?” dad said into a wooden spoon. He shoved the wooden spoon in my face.

“Pizza!”

“Pizza it is!” He grabbed the menu and perused it, muttering to himself. “And will we have cinnamon sticks?”

“Only of course.”

Dad called the pizza place, humming to himself.

“Your phone is ringing off the hook,” Spencer called from our room.

“Who is it?” I called back.

“Once it was Mason, once it was some kid named James, and once it was some kid named Joseph.”

I groaned. “Bring it to me!”

I heard him laugh. “Yeah fucking right.”

“Daddy?” I asked, smiling at him.

“Ordering pizza,” he said, dialing the number. He shot me a smile.

I sighed and went back to our room. I grabbed my phone and flicked Spencer’s forehead.

“Don’t damage the goods,” he said without looking up from his phone.

“Oh I’ll damage you alright,” I joked as I headed back out to the kitchen. I hopped back on the counter and got ready to call Mason when my phone rang, Mason’s ringtone.

“Hello?” I asked, cheerfully.

“I’ve been trying to call you! And so have the twins.”

“I know, my phone was in the other room. What’s up?”

“Sorry I had to run earlier, Joseph was being obnoxious.”

I heard shouting in the background and Mason chuckled.

“It’s totally cool dude.”

“Did you just call me dude?”

I snickered. “Yeah, got a problem with it? Come at me bro.”

“You’re in Wyoming for three days,” Mason said, laughing.

“Imagine what I’ll be like a week from now.”

“I don’t even want to think about it.”

Those words had double meaning, and it hit me hard. I felt my throat close up.

“Zoe?” Mason asked.

“Sorry, just thinking,” I said, quickly. My voice sounded hoarse.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, just helping my dad order a pizza.”

Dad raised his eyebrows at me and shook his head.

“Yeah, okay, sure. So how’s Wyoming?”

I hopped off the counter and went outside. I sat on the curb and felt the breeze whip through my hair. “It’s great. My dad and I finally get to be together.”

“And you’re in the same house as Spencer,” Mason growled. “He doesn’t violate your privacy right? You keep your door locked?”

I busted out into laughter. “Mase, I share a room with him.”

I was greeted by silence on the other end, and I heard the phone hitting something. Uh-oh, did Mason just throw his phone?

“You share a room with him?” Mason’s voice growled.

“Yes.”

“Do you share a bed?”

“God no, just a living space. Calm down Mase, I’m not going to do anything. I wear a purity ring, remember?”

“I don’t like it.”

“It’s not up for discussion.”

“Fuck Zoe, you’re making me insane!”

“Mason, just calm down okay? I don’t want you to do anything-”

The line clicked dead.

I sighed and went to go back inside when my phone rang, James’s ringtone.

“Hello?” I asked, sitting back down.

“Guess what?” James yelled, excitedly.

“What James?”

“Holly has a twin!”

I rolled my eyes and laughed. “Really?”

“Yeah, she has a twin named Molly.”

“Are you going to set Joseph up with her?”

James scoffed. “No thanks. He’d just ruin things.”

I busted out into laughter. “He’d what?”

“Think about it Zo. If I introduced Joseph to Molly and Joseph broke her heart, what would Holly think? She’d hate Joseph. Then what am I supposed to do? It’s like being stuck in Mason’s position when ya’ll were dating and you hated Carson. I could never do it.”

“What if Joseph and Molly really hit it off?”

“They won’t because Joseph is never going to meet her.”

“So what’s Molly like?”

“The complete opposite of Holly. She constantly speaks her mind and she’s like super wild and crazy.”

“How did you meet her?”

“I went over to Holly’s house earlier today because she left her jacket over at our house. And Molly answered the door! And I was like uh, you look different. And she’s all like, I’m not Holly dumbass.”
