Chapter 1
"Sarge, get over here" the young private whispered, "contact 4 clicks to the north" the Sergeant nodded. They sat at the edge of a group of trees which sat atop a hill, it was a cloudy night which gave them more darkness, more cover. "Private, what time?" the sergeant whispered harshly as he crouched next to him and grabbed the binoculars. "Midnight sir" two trucks laid with black tarps moved along the dirt road toward the heavily dense forest. The Sergeant turned to his Corporal, which also happened to be his closest friend. "Mark, come here, two tango trucks heading east, Radio it in, we're moving out.
The corporal nodded and held the microphone close to his mouth and turned some dials. "Private, make a note of undetermined enemy activity in this area, august 14, 2002." The Private immediately started taking the note and put it in a hidden pocket in his helmet. When the Sergeant saw the Corporal finish the message he stood up and cocked his M4. "Lets move" he then checked the road one more time and slid down the steep fall and crouched behind a bush. He had a clear view of the road, When the Sergeant quickly waved the squad slid down next to him.
The squad ran down the road with their guns aiming down the road. The Sergeant held up his fist and crouched. the squad stopped and crouched behind them, the private in the back turned around and watched for any movement down the road. The Sergeant looked around, they were beside a road surrounded by trees and steep inclines. "TANK!!" the private ran to the front and pointed the slowly moving Iraqi tank on the road. "Get down!" the squad laid next to the forest and the sergeant grabbed a broken limb on the ground and laid it next to his men. The monstrous Tank slowly passed them, the squad quickly got up and ran into a ditch in between the road and forest. "Mark, you know what to do" he nodded and pulled out his His Anti vehicle mine and ran out to the middle of the road, he looked down the road and saw another truck coming up the road. quickly he dropped it and ran to the squad who was now heading up to the forest. as the squad was making it up the hill they easy could hear a distant explosion. After they reached the top of the hill multiple Tanks, and Helicopters started heading toward the destroyed truck.
The sergeant looked at his squad, "Now's our chance Storage facility at the bottom of this hill Thats our objective." he pointed at a rather large building with supply crates being moved into the back of it. The small team ran down the hill as they checked their gear. "On me" the sergeant mouthed as they crouched behind a truck. immidiatly the squad nodded, the Sergeant moved around the truck and looked down his guns' sights.a man with an AK47 appeared behind some crates and saw the squad. The man quickly turned and tried to run. The Sergeant fired and hit the man in the back, three men came around the supply truck and fired. shots bounced off the truck as the squad fired. The three men fell to the ground, "Lets move up" the sergeant said to his men as he reloaded. the entered the supply building and Mark ran up to a large crate of explosives. "I'll plant the C4 here, you go secure the back." The sergeant nodded and head out to the back with the squad. Mark then ran out adn joined the team as the building exploded causing the squad to fall back, They painfully got up and ran to the hill.
When the squad made it to a large opening in the forest a Black Hawk landed in front of them as the doors opened."You the E-squad?" the pilot yelled over the noise of the Black Hawk "Yes sir!" the pilot looked at all of them adn waved them in. "You guys made a heck of a show out there, your lucky the T-squad took out that enemy attack helicopter." The Sergeant nodded and put on his helmet. "We owe them a drink then. this could've been worse." the pilot then sat down and pushed the throttle. "Ya well thats not possible, they were killed by an Iraqi sniper, they weren't as lucky as you four." The squad didnt speak, they kept quiet until they were back at their base.
