Can’t shake this lonely feeling
Laying in my bed at night
It consumes me
My thoughts go reeling
For me to live and be alone;
It just isn’t right
At this point in my life
I thought I would have won
The heart of my true love
Hell…this isn’t fun
My soul lies empty
Lifeless
A journey unfulfilled
Hearts that I have broken
And that have broken mine
A multitude of relationships….killed
What am I doing wrong?
Why can’t I make the connection?
Perhaps my timings off
Another empty year
Just a moment shy of true affection
Maybe I’ve seen her on the subway
Or bumped into her in passing on the street
Or ignored her obvious signals and cues
And trampled her emotions under my feet
I can’t help but wonder if I’ve met her once before
Or have known her for many years
But whatever the case
My heart is still sore
I wrench my hands
I pace
And cry to the heavens above
Somewhere on earths vast face
...Exists my true love
