Lauren Walker

I stare in the mirror, at my reflection. Tears streaming down my face, my gloomy dark eyes, my hair everywhere on my head, crust in my eyes, and my swollen bottom lip. I whip the tears away from my face, with my shaking hands. Turning on the shower facet, I strip off the bloody clothes and step in. I wash the blood off my hands, and cry. How could I let him drive me this crazy? Why? I’ve disappointed everyone whoever loved me. I turn off the facet, and step out. Rapping a towel around my waist, I sigh as police sirens ring from outside around the house.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

January 1, 2009 8: 22 am

''It’s going to be so hard remembering it's a new year'' I smile pulling my long black hair into a ponytail. I turn around and stare at my husband as he gets dressed for work. I smiled before walking towards him, rapping my arms around his neck, I lay my head on his back.

''Why do you have to go to work today, can’t you take a day off?'' I ask tapping his shoulder. He looks at me through the mirror.

''Lauren, it’s a new year I thought I told you there would be no more of that begging shit!'' he says his jaw flinching.

I unwrap my arms around from his neck, and walk back over to the bed, grabbing my white apple laptop. I sit it on my lap and get on itunes. I look up, to see Eric stareing at me. I roll my eyes and look back down at the screen.

''You'll be okay, someone has to bring money in'' he comments before grabbing his brief case and heading for the door. I look at him crazy, putting my laptop on top of the silk sheets. I stand up, and walk over to the door. Standing in front of the door. Standing in front of the door i cross arms across my chest angry.

''What the hell was that suppose to mean? You’re the one that wanted me to stay home and do wife duties'' I say licking my lips and watching him shake his head.

‘’Lauren Walker, move out of my way!’’ he says looking me in the eyes.

‘’No! Tell me, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT SUPOSE TO MEAN? Huh. What you cant tell me now?’’ I go off, pushing him back. He looks at me even angrier.

‘’Fine, you wanna know what the hell I mean by that? I’ll tell you. You are a spoiled little bitch I mad, I mad, you rich, famous, fortune, I brought all the shit you have in that closet. This house! I pay for, your weave to get done, your nails, all of it. So don’t ask any damn questions, if you don’t want the real answer. NOW move away from the door, your gonna make me late.’’

I stare at him, with nothing but hurt in my eyes. How could he swich up on me. I shake my head, walking away from the door, I walk over to the closet and grab a pair of jeans and a blue blouse. Walking into the bathroom, I whip my face, and throw on the clothes. Grabbing my, purse and a pair of six inch heels, I walk out the bedroom and down the stares.

Putting my heels on, I walk into the kitchen. I roll my eyes, looking at his badge. He’ll be back in any minute, I take out my cell phone.

I look at the three missed calls from a number ive never seen before. I call them back, and get no answer.  Laying my cell phone down on the counter, I walk down the hall and into the bathroom. Grabbing the bag, I put under the sink. I open the bag and take a deep breath.

Sighing nevorousily, I pull out the pregnancy test. Peeing on the stick, I stand in front of the mirror, walking back in forth waiting. I look at myself in the mirror. I wonder has he relised my jeans have been a little tighter.  I smile at the reflection of my but.

My cell phone starts to play Beyonce's Me, Myself & I. I grab the test, and walk down the hall. . Walking into the kitchen, I stop when I see Eric sitting at the table. I hide the test behind my back, and walk over to my cell phone.

‘’Hello’’ I answer bitting my bottom lip.
