“…Frantic.”
“Finally, well Frantic, how would you like to take me to the movies tonight?”
My mouth hung open, but no sound escaped, I was utterly speechless. I had planned for this moment to come, but I suspected I would be the one doing the asking. I shut my mouth once I noticed that I took too long to answer, it wouldn’t make a difference to answer it now.
She shook her head and looked away from me. “Just forget about it.” I just got a glimpse of the look on her face once she began to walk away from me, hurt.
“No! Anastasia come back!” I shouted and reached for her shoulder. I flipped her around, so I could hold her still. Her eyes wouldn’t meet mine, and I saw tears begin to form at the corner of her eyes. I put both of my hands on either side of her face; I wiped the tears that managed to escape with my thumb.
“Anastasia, I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to take that long to answer, it’s just that…” Come on lover boy, just say it! A lump began to grow within my throat as her eyes finally looked up at mine. “I just thought that I would be the one to ask you out.” The words barely made it out as a whisper.
I shut my eyes, brought her face closer to mine, and leaned forward. Our lips smashed against each other; hers were soft and moist, maybe she just applied lip-gloss before I got here. My lips on the other hand, weren’t much, they were dry, papery, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t chapped, but it was the most electrifying kiss I had, a numbing sensation running through my body as our lips moved in sync with one another.
Sadly, from the lack of oxygen, I had to break away. “Does that answer your question?” I asked. She just smiled and showered me with kisses.
…that it hurts to look at you
