The pain and shock that I had gone through and was going through was more than that of a kid. It was to last me for my life time.
He kept murmuring sweet nothing in my ears and cradled my delicate body in his lap to calm me down but nothing helped.
I finally ended up sleeping on Mr. Heywood out of sheer exertion.
I slept a dream filled sleep where I was free like I had been for last sixteen years. Where I lived a life which was happy free from any distress and free from all the pain that could possibly occur to human being.
I was enjoying myself in my dream when I heard the words, “We Love You.”
Suddenly everything in my dream went haywire all the bright colors were replaced with darkness and all the happiness was replaced with pure misery. All I could do was whimper and cry out. This dream occurred thrice in two days.
I felt something wet seep into my hair, opening my eyes I realized that I was on a plane and everything came flooding back and all I could do was live in denial.
I heard Mr. Heywood say, “Sorry dear, didn’t mean to wake you up.”
He saw me with all puffy eyes and tear stained face but said nothing and all he did was wipe away my tears like he could wipe away my pain.
I looked up at him and realized his eyes were same as mine, all red and puffy as well and that led me to a psychological breakdown. It was like time stopped and I became numb.
I refused to accept reality, I wasn’t among those who accepted fate but who fought against it to get whatever they wanted.
The plane started descending and it gave me the same feeling of nausea that it had during ascending, only this time I controlled.
We got off the plane and waited to get our luggage. We waited patiently for about fifteen minutes until a Mickey Mouse printed duffle bag and a huge green American Touristic designer bag finally caught my eyes.
I grabbed it but it was just too heavy for me lift it off the conveyor. Seeing my struggle with the bags, Mr. Heywood caught hold of the bags for me and asked me to follow him.
Outside the airport were people waiting there anxiously for their family and friends’.
We quickly made our way out and immediately a Black 2011 Camaro stopped in front of us. If we were under normal circumstances I would have ogled over the devil of a car and would have taken the seat right in front but now I settled for a back seat.
“Where to Mr. Heywood?” asked the driver.
“Residence”, Mr. Heywood replied.
The drive was long but the scenery was enticing. Tall lush green trees covered with rain water. They looked so fresh as if they didn’t have anything that could pull them down as if they were meant to rise and shine.
It had a calming effect on me and it only gave me strength to deal with whatever was planned for me.The calm and peace disappeared with Mr. Heywood’s cell phone Ringtone. Mr. Heywood sighed took the call.
“Yes,” He said into the phone.
There were voices I could hear from the other end but they were muffled so I couldn’t make them out clearly. All I could make out was that the voice belonged to a female.
“Not well,” he said into the phone. I could hear more muffled voices from the phone which indicated that Mr. Heywood was replying to everything that the female on other line was asking.
