"Brittany!" My mother called from downstairs causing me to jump and set my pen down.
"Your breakfast is ready".
"Coming mom." I yelled back to her. I closed my journal and put it in its secret place in the bookshelf and started heading down stairs.
As I walked down the steps the smell of bacon and pancakes filled the room. By the time I got to the kitchen my little sister was already shoving her face with pancakes. My sister Bailey was like every other 7 year old. Loud and annoying. She always got what she wanted without hesitation. She was the little "angel" in the family. If only my mom knew what she was really like, a demon.
"Are you ready for your last week of senior year?" My mother asked while handing me a plate full of pancakes.
"Yea I can't wait to get out of that awful place and into the real world." I reply.
School is torture. They make you sit in a classroom for 7-8 hours and for what? I'm sure i'm not going to use the quadratic formula ever in my life.
"Don't say that school is a wonderful place to learn and grow." my mother remarked.
"Yea learn how to hate life." I mutter grabbing the last piece of bacon before my sister could.
"Hey!! I was going to eat that." Bailey cried.
"Well too bad." I yelled while walking out of the room to grab my bookbag and keys. I said bye to my mom and ran out to my car. One week, I had one week and then I was free. No more annoying high school teachers. No more crazy freshman running through the halls. It was done and nothing could make this week bad. Not my mom, not my classmates not even Bailey. This was my week and it was going to be perfect. Or so I thought...
