I watched frozen in place as the darkness took over. Covering everything in its path as it moved towards me, a cold spin tingling feeling ran up the back of my neck sending a shiver through my whole body. The shadowed darkness moved closer and closer, making the cool air even colder. I tried to move but it was like the water at my feet had frozen over and trapped me, I looked down but saw no ice. Just water. It started to rain again, the droplets pelting my face, making it nearly impossible to see. Something slammed against my body knocking me backwards; I slammed into a wall and slide down as I watched the dark shadows fight against one another. It didn't matter that one had just saved me, when it finished of the shadow that it was battling it would turn on me, and try to suck my soul from my body, all for a few moments of its life to be restored, before it burned to ashes. The whole thing left me feeling week, and souless . The last time this had happened I had passed out, and avoided the feeling of losing a part of myself that I would never regain. The feeling was the same when I woke up though.
A cackling sound rang through the quad as a dark cloaked figure appeared. The shadows seemed to stare at the figure for a moment, and then just disappeared. While I was glad that the shadows had gone something about the figure that was moving towards me made me just as nervous and frozen to place in the pelting rain, as the shadows had. If they were scared of this figure then I should terrified of it. I coward back against the wall pulling my knees up to my chest. My eyes never left the figure walking towards me. Its stride was even and in no time the figure had reached me. I looked up into the deep emerald green eyes of the figure standing in front of me. Towering over me the figure took the cloak off and bent down putting it around my shoulders. The rain had started pouring harder and I could no longer see anything in front of me.
I felt something lift me up onto my feet and start to guide me towards the dorm rooms. The rain never eased up, as the figure and I sloshed through the mud. After what seemed like forever we made it inside, wiping the rain out of my eyes I stared at a boy about my age, he had black hair, with a side fringe that covered the right side of his face, he had deep green eyes and was well built, the rain dripped off of him, as he put his bags down and grabbed my arm before I fell over. The warmth of his skin burned against the coolness of mine
"Oh god shes turning as white as a ghost, and her lips are so blue" he mumbled to himself, never taking his hands off of my shoulders. I put my hand to my head and shrugged the cloak off handing it back to the unknown owner
"Thank you for helping me, but I should probably go to my room" I mumbled with my eyes shut tight.
I started walking down the corridor towards the stairs. I suddenly felt unstable, and grabbed the railing of the stairs a few feet away to stop from falling. Black dots danced before my eyes, and I could no longer stand, I slide down to the floor at the base of the stairs and waited for the feeling to go away,
"please let me help you to your room, you don't look like you are going to make it there by yourself" the guy who had helped me inside asked from next to me, I looked up into his eyes and slowly nodded.
After what seemed like hours of torture we finally made it up the stairs and to my room. I dug in the pocket of my cut off shorts looking for my key, when I found it I numbly stuck it in the lock and opened my door
"Thank you again, and I am presuming that you are new so. Welcome to Stanford high, everyone calls me Star" I told him, slowly starting to take of his warm cloak that he had put back over my shoulders.
"Oh don't worry about the cloak looks better on you than it does on me. And I'm J. Great to meet Star, but now I have to go sign in, I hope you feel better" he told me walking back down the hall with his bag slung over one of his shoulders, slowly I walked over to my bed and crashed on the mattress not bothering to take of my wet clothes I climbed under the blankets and feel straight to sleep.
"its a beautiful day outside students so get up and go to training, before hitting the showers and heading to class" the headmaster announced over the PA system at 5.30 in the morning, I wasn't a morning person so it took me a while to get out of bed, falling off of the side I sat up and rubbed my arms that were still as white as snow, I changed into black track suit pants and a black tank top, and headed outside while slipping on my joggers. As I ran down the stairs I tied my long black hair into a high pony tail, and clipped my fringe back. I ran to our normal training spot and slipped into line just as coach was starting to explain something about a new student
