Hey guys, here's the update, a little short but I hope you enjoy! Vote, Comment, Fan, etc loves.

Dedication to Explode because I'm in love with Twisting You, one of the best books I've read on Wattpad (it's a werewolf story). Check her out!

Recap:

Splinters pierced through my dirty bare feet as I tried to fix myself, using the wall as support to get up. Caleb approached me as Mike made sure Sam was out good. He pulled me into his embrace, "We have to get out of here, now."

He practically flew out of the room with me in his arms, yelling instructions up to Mike. As we cornered the front porch, another gun shot sounded and Caleb stopped in his tracks.

This time, a scream followed.

Chapter Twenty-Three

"Shit," he muttered. "Shit, shit, shit, shit," he whispered, pulling me tighter to his chest. His hands were on my back, and I could feel the blood seeping through the flannel of my shirt. The voice screamed again and it sounded as if it was coming from back around the house. "I have to get you back," he whispered in my ear, running down the steps and into the woods.

"No! Caleb!" I grasped his head in my hands, looking at him like he'd lost his mind, "We need to go back!" I yelled as he continued to pace back.

Mike flew down the front stairs of the house, grabbing Caleb by the shoulder and pulling us behind a tree. "Did you hear that?"

"Yeah," Caleb gulped, taking short, heavy breaths. Beads of sweat were dripping over his forehead. "Listen, Mike, I have to get her to the––"

"––It's Whitney," Mike cut him off, letting go of Caleb's shoulder and gripping his hair in a stressful manner.

My breathing stopped. No panic attack compared to the rush that went through me. "Save her!" I screamed at both of them, wriggling out of his grasp, forgetting about my injury.

I collapsed onto the ground, falling into the thorny shrubs. Caleb picked me up again and whispered in my ear.

"Stay calm." He instructed Mike to get her as my heart beat paced irregularly.

"Oh, god, oh god," I choked.

"Is that him?" I heard a faint voice.

"Shit," Caleb cussed again, running into the woods, in the opposite direction Mike was headed.

"Caleb!" I yelled. "You can't leave her!"

He slapped his hand over my mouth, "Be quiet, Ella," he said, fraught. "Mike's got her."

I closed my eyes, I didn't even know who Mike was, how was I supposed to trust him to rescue and care for my sister?

The pain had subsided to the back of my mind; our safety had taken first priority.

"Caleb," I mumbled against his hand covering my mouth. He didn't acknowledge it, but kept running. He hopped over stumps and tree branches. The wind whipped around us furiously and the forest was dimly lit by the moon tonight. I closed my eyes and held onto him with as much force I had. Which wasn't much, considering over half of my limbs were probably broken.

He came to an abrupt stop and I squinted my eyes open again, noticing his truck. I had never been more happy to see it in my life. As he shoved me inside the passenger seat I heard another wail and a dry lump grew in my throat.

"Breathe slowly, for fuck's sake Ella this can't happen right now," he growled as he jumped in quickly and jammed the keys in the ignition.

Neither of us made any moves to reach for our seat belts, my body clanked against the door recklessly as he drove sixty miles an hour on the back trail.

“Call the police, dammit!” I yelled at him

“I can’t,” he tightened his knuckles that were clenched white on the steering wheel.

“Why not?” I yelped as the truck dipped into a pothole and my head hit the ceiling of the cab.

“I’ll answer questions later,” he gritted his teeth, taking a sharp turn and  the cabin came into view again. We were hidden behind it in the woods. I saw now that the only roads leading to the cabin was an unpaved dirt and pebble road that was scattered with weeds. The cabin was all log on the outside that matched the wood paneling on the inside. It seemed like years since I was inside of there, but probably only mere minutes. “Where the hell is he?” he yelled, rolling down his window and sticking his head out urgently.
