“Colloportus” I said, closing my trunk. I had finally finished packing for my 5th year at Hogwarts. I am so glad to finally be going back. It seems like an eternity since I have been there. I love it there so much because I am important there. Here at home, I am just Flavia, nothing important.
I am actually living in the shadow of my cousin, Scarlette; it really sucks because my own father loves her more than he loves me. It is sad when you think about it, but when you have lived with it for 9 years, you get used to it. Scarlette has a sister as well, well half-sister. Her name is Audrey... Long story short, her mother is Bellatrix Lestrange and her father happens to be Tom Riddle.... It was a secret until Rita Skeeter blabbed her big mouth about it... Anyway...
I stood up from my bed and looked around, making sure I had packed everything. I kind of spun around in a circle, around my round room. I spotted a photo of Dean and me in a frame on my side table. I walked over to it and picked it up. All of a sudden, I heard a knock at the door.
I turned to see who it was. It was my father. Let me tell you about my father. He was a cruel, mean, narcissistic man. He, as I mentioned before, loves Scarlette more than me. Yes! I know that I sound selfish but, how would you like it if your own father loved your cousin more than he loved you? You wouldn’t, would you?
“Time for bed Flavia” He said. I just turned back around to my picture, put it down and headed for my bed. I haven’t spoken to my father since the fight we has through the holidays. He told me to be more like Scarlette. So I yelled at him and told him to be a proper father. It was the worst day in the history of worst days.
I felt terrible for not saying anything, so I answered with a simple “Goodnight.” He said goodnight back and turned out my light. I lie down on my bed and put my head softly on my pillow. Took a deep breath and whispered to myself “One more sleep.”
