My Friend Jesus

When my nights  are long and I dread the day
My faith and strength are threatening to be gone
I get on my knees and begin to pray
I know on whom I can depend on.

Jesus took  my hand and led me to life
And for that my debt will never be paid
My small mind was changed from joy to hard strife
But the love that my soul holds will not fade.

Jesus healed my heart when I found no cure
He made my pain disappear with God's might
I am proud to say that my friend is pure
Jesus will always be my shinning light.

So when I feel like I am down and blue
I hear the five words "I am there for you."
