Rules of society
There you'd sit - day by day - smiling and laughing,
I'm sure that you don't see what I'm feeling.
What I'm hoping.
All you see is a girl who smiles at everyone; you don't see the changes..
I blush when you are near, smile brightly when you laugh and listen closely as you speak.
Yet you do not see. Why, oh why, do I bother?
I dream and wish only to have my attempts smashed hard...
It hurts to know that you are so close, within my hearts reach, and I cannot have you.
I can never touch you, cry against your shoulder or be spun around in your arms.
It's a helpless case.
You and me.
We're forbidden souls, lost in the rules of society.
