Chapter 19: The One From The Past Is Back.

Azmaria’s POV:

It annoys me that Carter doesn’t want to tell me where the hell we’re going.

I say bullshit.

“Carter, you have two minutes to get to our destination or I will whack you across the head.”

He had the nerve to laugh. “I’ll get there when I want to.”

“Please tell me.” I whined.

“We’re almost there.”

“How close are we?”

“Close enough.”

I rolled my eyes. “You are so annoying.”

I sat back in my seat and closed my eyes. I don’t see a probably with telling me where we’re going. But I guess, Carter thinks so.

“And like I said, we’re here and we were close enough.”

My eyes shot opened and I looked around. We were at a parking lot, an abandon one at that. A store that looked closed was in front of us. The lights were off so I couldn’t see anything.

“Come on.” Carter said. He got out of the car and walked to my side. “I hope you think it’s unique.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

We walked towards the closed store. Carter got a key from is pockets and unlocked the store door. We walked in, it was complete darkness. I couldn’t see anything in the room. Everything around me couldn’t be seen.

“Try to find the lights.” Carter told me.

I rolled my eyes but patted the walls to see if there was any switch. When I came across something, I flicked it up. The lights in the store turned on. I sighed. “Carter, where are—” I turned around to see a room filled with instruments. Drums, pianos, violins, guitars, every kind of instrument you can play. The walls were a caramel color with musical notes. My feet started walking towards the instrument. A flute was laying on a piano. I remembered I had to play one in elementary but I sucked. A soft chuckle escaped my lips. This room was pure music.

“Do you like it?” I twirled around to face Carter. He had his hands in his pockets. “Well, do you?” he asked hesitantly. My eyes traveled around the room again. The instruments were breathtaking.

“Of course I like it.” I said, looking back at Carter. “The instruments are all beautiful and some of them, I never even seen before.”

A smile crept on his face. “That’s good.” He walked towards me and grabbed my hand. Carter took me deeper down the music store. There was this hallway that felt never ending. We walked into a room. The room was completely gray. It happened to be the shade of gray of Carter’s eyes. The only thing in the room was a grand piano.

“This wasn’t my idea of a first date.” Carter chuckled. “This music studio is owned by Cassidy and Preston’s father. Preston is a big fan of music too, since he was little. He thought it would be a good idea to show you this place.”

I raised an eyebrow. “So Preston planned this date?”

He looked at me with wide eyes. “I mean, I guess. But that’s because I didn’t have anything planned. This was last minute.”

“So, I’m worth last minute?”

Carter looked terrified. I wasn’t mad but it was cute how he looked.

“No Azmaria. T-that wasn’t what I meant. It’s just that, I was too nervous that I forgot to plan something.”
