Red Moon (A Twilight Story) (On Hold)

Yeah so I just realized that the last chapter was all of Chapter 26 plus like 1 more page, it's because I write my chapters in a word document and I added more things to Chapter 26 thinking it was the new document I wrote for Chapter 27. So I went back and deleted most of chapter 27 so now it's only 1 page. Since it's only 1 page I will make sure to make this chapter a lot longer okay? Thanks for understanding, sorry about the confusion and please leave a comment below.

"Hello?" She answered.

Edward felt as though a ton of weights had just been lifted off of his shoulders just by hearing her voice. At least now he knows that his sister is still alive.

"Gabby? How have you been?" He asked.

"Fine Edward. I've been fine, they've treated me well and like family." She answered his unasked question.

He wasn't that surprised that she knew exactly what he was thinking after all they were closer than most siblings are.

"When are you coming home Gabby? I believe that you should have been home already." He stated.

"Are you timing me Edward?" 

He mentally slapped himself across the head, he should't have said that. That would only make her want to stay away from him more. 

"No i just miss you Gabby. The entire family does, especially Ne- i mean Renesmee. She asks for her aunt everyday." Edward half lied.

Renesmee didn't exactly ask for her everyday because most days she was unfortunately hanging out with Jacob, but she did ask for Gabriella a lot. One of the reasons he even said it was to try to make her feel guilty and come home.

"Aww, tell her I miss her too. But I can't exactly go home right now." She answered.

"What do you mean by that?" Edward demanded.

"Edward, I'm apart of the guard now." 

Edward's dark topaz eyes, a result from not hunting for a while, widened.

Apart… of the.. guard?

"You're what!?" He asked in outrage.

He could almost see her flinching because of his harsh tone, but he didn't care. She was not going to damn herself for the rest of her vampire life by being apart of the wretched guard!

"Edward, get your ears checked. I'm apart of the guard now." Gabriella stated in hopes that he would laugh instead of blowing up on her again.

"Gabby! Those Volturi scums drink humans! They kill vampires and humans daily! They are no better than scums!" Edward growled.

"So what? Maybe they are correct. You want to know the reason why it was so difficult for us to defeat those newborns by ourselves that we needed to get help from those mutts? Because we drink animal blood! Animal blood is not good enough Edward! The reason why we faced so many difficulties was because we aren't strong enough." Gabriella snapped.

"Since when have you been so power hungry Gabby?" Edward questioned angrily.

"If you're powerful then people will fear you. Fear can prevent people from attacking and destroying people. If people fear you, you will never have to get hurt again." Gabriella stated.

"And who taught you that? Aro?" Edward snarled.

"Yeah, he did. And he's teaching me a lot more about life, more than I ever learned staying with the Cullens." Gabriella stated coldly.

"Just the Cullens? Is that all we are to you now Gabriella?" Edward questioned half angry and half hurt.

"Yeah. Just the Cullens. I'm done with that coven. I've moved on." She stated emotionlessly.

"Fine. Have fun in your new life Gabriella." 

"I will." 

Edward slammed the phone down on the table, causing a slight crack in the wood. He moved the phone over the crack hoping Esme wouldn't see before storming into the living room.

He huffed as he slammed himself down onto the couch and stared emotionless at the TV. Football was on and unlike Emmett, he had no interest in it.

"What's wrong Eddy? Got in a fight with your secret girlfriend that we should know about?" Emmett questioned jokingly.
