Allister’s POV

“I’ll always have your back. May it be a battle with Goliath or Godzilla. I’m always here. It’s what best friends do, right?”

Oh great! I just agreed to a dinner with his parents. Not that they hate me, in fact they adore me. Too bad I just don’t feel the same for them. They are conniving and controlling. Well, not to me but to Vinny. It what most parents say about their children, “We only want our best for our kids”

And for them, it’s sticking to the plan they have for Vincent’s life.

Okay, since I’m somehow ready for dinner with the Salvatore Family, I’ll tell you a quick story about Vinny and his parents.

As to what I can remember from Vince’s story about his life when we were in High school, drunk and whatnot, his dad told him that his life was already laid out to him.

He went to an all-boys prep school. He tried to finish in honors and to avoid any ruckus while in school, thus making no friends. It was school and home for him. Not even a little play time after school with the other kids. He only interacts with them only when needed, like in parties. Not that he was an introvert, but his parents weren’t the social kind of people. They talk to people only if they will benefit from them.

To the innocent eyes, their tactics were normal acts of rich people. But to eyes that know the truth, you’ll see their plan through and know what their real intentions are.

That brings me to Vinny’s High school life.  It wasn’t easy. As Vinny began to fight back, his parents still finds a way to get back at him and let him obey them.  Though he was given a reward with his ‘obedience’, he was allowed to choose his school and there we met. It was the start of sophomore year when he transferred and there I fell in love!

I approached him seeing as he is so cute with his slightly messed up blonde hair, green eyes, and his then mysterious presence. And then we became friends, he was happier than I first met him, which made me feel so special. He then proudly introduced me to his parent’s like I’m his girlfriend, well that’s what I felt then. But really, it’s because I’m the first real friend he ever had. The others he met before were mere acquaintances or were just forced by their parents to meet other kids, like Vinny.

Like I’ve said, his parents adored me. They loved me because Vinny now found a friend. We always hang out in his room, playing video games non-stop until we fall asleep. Those were wonderful days, me lying in bed with him pretending to be asleep as I hugged him. But that wasn’t far from now, we snuggle up whenever we’re together.

Then came senior year. Choosing a college was the least of his problems, it was the major he wants to take up versus the major his dad wants him to take up. And here I played my ‘lovable best friend’ card. I convinced them that Vinny will take up Arts instead of Business if he attends every dinner meeting they have, go straight home after school, and he kept his Straight A’s. Which they thought was very torturous for Vinny, well it was, but he chose to side with me on this one.  I was with him in every dinner meeting so he survived them. This made his parents love me even more, because I was being a good influence on Vinny.
