            Recap:

He came to an abrupt stop in front of me, and I bumped into his back. “Eduardo?”

I grinned, stepping beside him. “Yeah. Edward’s kind of old fashioned, and a mouthful. I figured Ed, Eddie, Eduardo… nicknames.”

            He wrinkled his nose.

“Do you not like them?” I asked.

“Honestly, no.” He stepped onto his porch and opened the already-unlocked door. Ah, the perks of living in a small, secret-less town.

I smiled, following him into the awesome house. “Good. I’m using them all the time.”

            New:

Meeting Eddie’s family was not as strange as I thought it would be, all things considered. They all had that strange, Edward-like vibe that I still couldn’t wrap my head around. They were all beautiful, graceful, and clearly intelligent. It was a family of very white people, all of which had big caramel colored eyes with dark circles underneath them, and perfect smiles that were intriguing yet fear-inducing.

I met his mother, Mrs. Esme Cullen, first. Edward told me she was his adoptive mother; this made sense considering her age, but also confused me because of how similar they looked. She was a sweet woman. Gorgeous as the rest of the Cullen family, but she had a maternal air to her as well. She gave me a hug the second Edward introduced us. Alice Cullen was next, a short and easily excited pixie-like brunette. She was dating her adoptive brother Jasper Hale, who seemed distant but kind. Rosalie Hale and Emmett Cullen were also strangely dating and adoptive siblings, though I hadn’t met them just yet. They were out hiking when I was introduced to Esme, Jasper, and Alice.

Edward then whisked me away to his room, where we continued talking, getting a bit more personal in this conversation. I tried to keep the conversation away from my home life, giving him a simply modified version of the story of Jace and I. He told me about his life. He was born on June 20th to a loving mother and a distant father in Chicago, Illinois. His father wanted him to be a lawyer, but he wasn’t all too interested; he took a liking to music, and loved to play on the piano. When his parents and sister died (he didn’t tell me how, and I didn’t want to press it), he was adopted by Carlisle and Esme Cullen, and came to Forks to live with them.

He clearly loved his adoptive family, and would do anything for them. He lived with them for years, relatively content with his life. Then, he met Isabella Swan. He was head over heels for this girl; I could see it with every smile that appeared on his face. It was, dare I say, as strong a love as the kind I felt for Jace. Anyways, she was the Sheriff’s daughter, and moved to Forks about a year ago. Aside from a few rough patches, they were completely happy together. He married her right after high school, and had a happily ever after.

“Alice was crazy for the wedding. You should have seen it; we transformed the forest into pure perfection.” He grinned, “Bella was so embarrassed.”

I smiled back, picturing it all in my mind. “I wish I could have been there,” I said genuinely. Any love of Edward’s was a friend of mine. My stomach growled loudly, causing me to blush.

            Edward laughed, “Hungry?”
