"We should be going through the tunnel soon," Spark announced as her and Bryce walked into the room. Terranova and I ended up eating breakfast alone, since both said to be out on 'Capitol duties.' I didn't think too much of it.

The whole train car then went black, except for the few lights hanging from the top of the train. 'We must be going through the tunnel,' I thought, and my stomach twisted around nervously. In a few seconds, I would face the Capitol. I'd never seen any other Capitol person face to face besides Spark, so I didn't  really know what to expect.

Light flooded around us, and without even thinking Terranova and I rushed to the windows of the train. Nothing could've prepared me for what I saw. Everything was just so... perfect. All the colors to bright, all the metals too polished, all the turns and corners and angles to precise. The people cheered when they saw our train, yelling and waving to the tributes.

Neither Terranova nor I waved back.

We turned back around, our District 4 eyes unable to bear the intensity of the Capitol's atmosphere. Bryce nodded in understanding but Spark was too busy yelling at a Capitol woman to notice us. I was about to walk away when I heard Terranova speak.

"Bryce, you're our mentor. You're supposed to help us. What do we do now?" she asked in a whisper, her voice giving away all of her frightened emotions. I clutched Maysliee's necklace tightly, making my way back to them so I could hear his response.

"In about thirty seconds, you'll be in the hands of your stylists and their teams. Don't disobey them, trust me. Never go too far with the Capitol, take things one step at a time. I won the Games bydeceiving all the other tributes and acting like the pathetic innocent boy who couldn't hurt a fly. I did everything I was told to do, and I'm standing here talking to you, so it worked," Bryce said, looking at us seriously. That was the first and only time I heard him say something with such force, not just seriousness but force.

"You're pretty decent looking now that you're cleaned up!" Tina giggled as I stood in the center of a circular room completely naked as the three people of my stylist's team circled me like hungry dogs.

"I agree! Thank goodness we got rid of all that grime and dirt and flaky skin! That could cost you valuable popularity points!" Tanya, Tina's identical twin added, showing me her blinding white teeth. Both girls had gaudy hot pink hair tied up in complicated braids, and both wore identical short dresses but Tanya's was blue and Tina's was orange. They both wore pink high heels and bright makeup. The only true difference between the two was that Tina had her skin dyed a baby blue color. The two agreed on everything, and everything they said sounded like it had been autotuned to sound way higher pitched than any normal voice.

"I don't know how you survived with all that hair too! Have you ever even seen someone wax?" Hermes said, looking at his painted green nails sceptically. He wasn't very nice, and seemed to take very great pleasure in waxing my legs, underarms, torso, arms, and anywhere else that might have the slightest trace of hair.

I gave him a fake smile. "Sorry, we don't have that sort of thing in District 4." That made Tina and Tanya give me sympathetic looks and Hermes scoffed before walking out of the room.

"I'm getting Karmen!" he shouted and Tanya and Tina scurried out after him. I stood, abandoned, stripped of clothes, hair and my old District 4 fishy-ness that I loved so much. I felt like I was skinned alive, everything about my skin ripped away from my grasp.

A woman with wild light brown hair walked into the room I was in, Tina, Tanya and Hermes following closely behind. I didn't recognize the woman, who must be Karmen, from previous Games. She seemed less extravagant than the other Capitol people, but that wasn't a hard thing to be. Her hair was frizzed out so it became about four times the sized of her head, and she wore simple natural makeup. The bright blue eyeliner she wore was the only color on her face, making her aqua eyes pop. She wore a short, tight black dress with sea blue high heels.

Without saying a word, she circled me just as the others had. I immediately wanted to retrieve my simple robe the twins and Hermes had made me abandon on the chair and cover myself from her heated gaze. Her eyes took in every detail of my body, making mental notes as she went. You could practically see the gears turning within her extremely hairy head.
