Kurt had to go to the Professor's office the next morning, so Ambriel watched a movie with Ororo called Titanic.
"What happens in this, Ororo?" she asked.
"Two people meet on a boat, and they fall in love. But they're too different, so they aren't allowed to be together. Then the boat sinks." Ororo summed up.
"That is horrible!" Ambriel gasped.
The other woman shrugged. "True love stories are always tragic."
Hours passed, but Ambriel was absorbed in the movie. They had to turn it off eventually because she started to bawl at the end when Jack drifted into the water...
Ororo couldn't calm her down, then a loud BANF! broke the sobbing for a moment, then it started up again.
"Was happened?!" Kurt rushed over to Ambriel and held her close, rocking her back and forth.
"We watched Titanic..." Ororo began, but Kurt wasn't paying attention.
Ambriel was hiccuping and breathing heavily and deeply- even though each one hurt her chest. Kurt was rubbing her back gently, murmering softly in German.
"Kurt, can you take her up to bed? I need to get ready for later." Ororo asked, Kurt nodded and teleported outside Ambriel's room with her in his arms.
He'd never actually been in there. But once he opened the door it was like stepping into a fairy world.
The walls were painted white, a tall, wirey limbed tree was painted on that, and it had different pictures hanging from frames on the branches. One of each of Abriel's friends, and one of the two of them together. The floor was white, fluffy carpet, and the canopy bed had a sheer gosamer curtain hanging from the ceiling. It too was white, and the black metal frame of the headboard and footboard stood out. There were splashes of color here and there: multicolored flowers in vases, stained glass pictures hanging in the window. It was all beautiful.
Kurt went to place Ambriel on the bed but she clung onto them. "Please stay." she whispered. He sat down with her cradled in his arms.
"What made you cry Engle?"
"T-the movie...it was so s-sad...The girl loved the boy...but he fell back in the water and didn't come back up. It was scary...he looked blue- like you. Why didn't he float back up?" Blue eyes glistened with tears as they looked up into molten gold.
Death was not something Kurt wished to tell her about. It was dark and scary- and Ambriel was so innocent, not ever being exposed to it before.
"He died Engle."
"It's when...when someone goes to sleep, and they don't wake up again. When their souls go to Himmer- Heaven."
"Will you died?" she asked- scared.
Kurt chuckled and moved a strand of hair from her eyes. "I will die, when the time comes. But it won't for a while."
"Do you promise?"
"I promise Engle."
Even though it was barely one in the afternoon, Ambriel yawned. Kurt began murmering softly in her ear until she fell asleep.
Du hast mich gerettet, weil Sie Freude nahm in mir.
for you are my strength, my fortress,
the rock on whom I build my life.
I have been lost in my fears and my angers
caught up in falseness, fearful, and furious
I cried to you in my anguish.
You have brought me to an open space.
You saved me because you took delight in me.
