Ok this is my first story! :] hope you like it
I sat there with my head between my knees crying.
My name is Avery Carpezio and I am seventeen years old and I am currently sitting in a small cold, box like cell. I can't see anything, it's so dark.
I just want to go home! To see my mom again, even though we didn't always get along. To go fishing white my dad again. I even want to see my twerp of a little brother again! Right now all of that sounded really good! I want my old life back! The one before a couple of rats were my best friends!
Well I guess you want to know how I got here!? Well it all started about a week ago.
* * *
I sat there on the couch flipping through the channels. And for like the third night in a row there was nothing on.
"Man, forget this!" I turned the TV off and stood up. I stretched then headed for the glass doors.
"Hey, Avery, where are you going?" My little brother, Gavin came bounding down the stairs and around the corner.
"None of you're business brat!" I spun around and answered clearly annoyed. "Aren't you supposed to be in bed!" I didn't make it a question because I knew he was suppose to be.
"I am not a brat! I'm only three years younger than you!" He said back just as annoyed. "And if you don't take me with you than I'm totally going to yell and be a snitch!" He smiled and raised his eyebrow, challenging me.
I gladly accepted the challenge! "You will not!" I smiled evilly at him. "Not if you're duck tapped to a chair!" I started stepping towards him.
With every step that I took forward he took backward until he backed into the kitchen wall. "Avery don't! I'm going to yell!"
Ha like that scared me! "I bet I could cover your mouth before you did!" I took another step towards him.
"Avery, please don't! Last time I was sticky for two weeks!" Now he was pleading with me.
I stopped and smiled normally. "That's more like it! You'd better remember your place!" I turned around and walked back across the room.
I heard him let out a deep breath, then he followed me.
I stopped and spun around to face him. "Where do you think you're going!?"
His eyes filled with fear. "I'm going with you!"
"No! You don't even know where I'm going!" I said rolling my eyes.
"I know, but I bet it's cool!" He said with admiration.
I rolled my eyes again. "I have no idea what makes you think that!"
"It is cool isn't it!?" He got this big goofy smile on his face.
My face went bored. "No, its not! I'm bored and nothing's on!"
"See that's cool!" That smile never faltered the whole time.
"Please tell me how that's cool!" I put my hands on my hips. I did not get him!
"It's night time!" That's all he said like it explained everything!
I sighed. "And that is honestly why you think it's cool? Because its night time!?" Wow he really has no social life! I have no idea what goes on in that thing he calls a brain to make him think this is cool! But then again I don't think I would want to!
He just shook his head excitedly.
I ran my hand down my face. "Okay fine! Go put your shoes on." I motioned to the rug at the front door.
He ran over there and slipped his shoes on and ran back. He looked like a little pro runner, he did it so fast.
"Okay, I'm ready!" He said smiling really big. He was really excited about walking in the woods at night.
"Then come on and don't stop every second and touch something, okay!?" I turned and started walking before he could answer. He'd better not touch things, because if he did then I was going to leave him there.
He didn't bother answering me. He just followed me uncomfortably close.
We walked out of the house and started down the little hill towards the meadow. The grass was wet from the dew that had fallen and our shoes were squeaking. They sounded like crickets.
We crossed the meadow and headed up the big hill into the woods. It always looks really pretty at night! The moonlight shinning through the limbs and reflected off the dew.
This is why I always came out here. It's peaceful and calms me when I need to get away and just be alone.
But of course almost every time I try to come out here Gavin tries to come with me. That's why last time I duck tapped him to one of the kitchen chairs. I didn't do it just because I think he's a little brat that deserves it and always gets me in trouble! I did it because I like to come out here to be alone and away from the house.
