"Asshole!" My friends all yelled after him as he walked away. Ivy just stood there with a furious look in her eyes not saying anything, but anyone who looked at her could tell she was steaming inside. I was glad my friends would stick up for me like that and I also hate smart asses but hey, their all around us and you can't change them
"I can't believe he said that to you, he is gonna pay." Stephanie said with a furious tone.
"You could go tell Cameron and he could beat Alec up just for insulting you like that." Amber said in an unsettling voice, "He would get what he deserves."
"I mean, just because you are popular doesn't mean you're always a bitch."
"Guys watch your language and its fine it's just that some people think they are so important they think they can insult anyone they want." I said in a matter-of-fact voice.
Amber just sighed, but with a grin still on her face, "I don't know how you can always find the positive in someone, it's like you're an angel and it is kind of irritating. It's like you don't ever get angry, what is wrong with you?"
We all just look at each other and start laughing. People staring at our perfect smiles as we walk by.
"You guys are so mean!" I said jokingly.
We all headed off to our classes, but thankfully we didn't have any work. We just kept rotating classes and got our yearbooks and soon we were let out in the hallway to get signatures
As soon as I walk out, I am trampled by a ton of people wanting my signature but just as I'm about to fall over, Cameron pushes through the crowd, catching me before I have a chance. Right behind him comes Stephanie, Amber, and Ivy.
Cameron bends down and whispers in my ear,
"I think we deserve the first signatures, don't you agree?"
I just smile contentedly up at his face and take each one of their yearbooks and taking my time to give them each a meaningful paragraph. I am just fining Amber's when the rest of the people come through and I have to sign each and every one, with a forced smile on my face.
I am exhausted by the time the last person comes up, I don't even look up at who it is. But, as I open the cover and read the name, I can already feel anger boiling up inside me. It's Alec Ryder. I just give him a snide remark,
"Oh look, it's the all mighty Alec. Come to give me another meaningless insult?Maybe it's about my this time?"
"No, I just wanted to apologize for what I said but I guess I was right about you being just another bitchy popular. Sorry to ruin your perfect day." He said with irritation and the slightest bit of disapointment in his voice.
My eyed widened in surprise. That wasn't at all what I expected. Now I felt bad about saying those things to him even if he did just insult me again. He was already walking away and I reached out for his hand when Cameron came over and saw the look on my face.
"What just happened? Did he hurt you?" he said with a hint of distress in his voice.
"I'm fine, it's just"
But before I got to say anymore he stormed over to Alec and grabbed him by the arm and jerked him around.
He practically shouted at him, "What did you say to my girlfriend?"
Now everyone was staring. My friends were all looking at me with their mouths open and I could tell what they were thinking. What has gotten into Cameron?
Alec replied evenly, "Nothing, it's just that I wanted to apologize for when I bumped into her this morning, but she is just like any other bitchy bimbo in this school.
Cameron just blew his top. As soon as he registered what Alec said, he punched him in the face so hard I think it broke his nose. I ran up them, my mind was racing. What had just happened?
"Cameron! What the hell! What were you thinking?!" I screamed, my mind was racing, why Cameron had done this, I don't know. He had never done anything like this before, ever.
Alec's nose was gushing blood and my friends rushed over to help him. People were already taking pictures to put on Facebook and laughing at Alec who was now rolling on the floor, groaning, while holding his bloody nose.
"Go! We can handle this!" Ivy yelled as I pulled Cameron after me into the janitor's closet to get away from all the commotion.
"Would you mind telling me why you did that?" I asked him crossly.
"He was being a jerk, I was just defending you Annie." There was a hint of unease in his voice, like he was confused at why I was acting like I was.
"That's not an invitation to break his nose! He was just provoking you, he wanted to fight, wanted to see you lose it."
