Candy Planet!

(A parody of Treasure Planet the movie)

Landon sat in class staring at the board. The teacher was teaching the 4th grade class how to write in cursive. It was the fifth period and the next period was recess. Landon was excited for the next period because he was free to run around. Landon was a troubled kid. He got in trouble for things like throwing things across the room, making noises, and talking during class. Landon didn't have a lot of friends because half of the time he was sitting in the corner.

The teacher looked at her watch. She said to put everything away and line up at the door. Landon took everything and shoved it in his desk not caring if it would ruin the papers. He ran over to the door in a rush. Everyone lined up and they were on their way to the playground. Landon was thinking to push the other person in front of him to make them go faster but he knew if he did he would have to sit out from recess.

They got outside and Landon split off from the group. He was happy he could run around. He started running then went into a walk after he saw a boy trip and fall. He thought he would just ignore it but decided to see if he was alright. Landon walked up to him.

"Are you alright?" Landon asked the boy lying on the ground.

The boy sat up. His breathing was raspy. Landon was thinking he had asthma.

"Someone is chasing me." He managed to breathe out. They boy took something out of his pocket and handed it to Landon. "Take this." He said.

"What's this?" He asked.

"A map. To Candy Planet." The boy answered.

"Candy Planet?" Landon repeated.

"Yes, I'm moving away from here and won't come back. That place on the map is important. Everyone is after it. Keep it safe."

There was yelling and Landon was wondering what it was. He turned around.

"They're coming after the ma. Run!" The boy demanded.

Landon and the boy split off in different directions. He didn't look back he just kept going. He ran over behind the building to hide. He peaked over the corner to see if he was being followed. The coast is clear. He turned back in front of him and got scared. A geeky guy with brown plastic glasses with red hair and freckles stood in front of him. The boy stared at him.

"Can I help you?" Landon asked.

"Hi." He said.

Landon moved away from the building and started walking away. They boy followed. Landon stopped and turned around to him.

"You can go now." Landon said.

He just stared at him.

"Go." He said.

"I'm Neb who are you?" Neb said.

"I'm Landon . . ."

The boy still stared at him. Landon left and Neb followed behind. Landon stopped again and turned to him.

"Would you leave me alone." Landon demanded.

"Can I come with you?" Neb asked.

"No."

"Why not?" Neb said loudly.

"Shh, not so loud. Some kids are chasing me."

"Sorry." Neb whispered.

"If you're quiet you can come."

"Yay!" He yelled.

"Shh."

"Oh, sorry." He whispered again.

Landon and Neb started walking. Landon opened the map that the boy on the playground gave him.

"We have to in the school." Landon said. "I need to find this place."

Neb agreed and they walked toward the door where they came outside. The adults were blocking the doorway.

"How are we suppose to get in?" Landon whispered to himself as he peaked around the corner of the building.

A kid walked by Landon. Landon thought about something. He took the kid and pushed him toward the teachers to make him cry. The little kid sat there crying and all the adults came over. Landon and Neb went around the adults and ran in the building. As they walked down the hall Landon looked at the map and then bumped into someone.

"Sorry . . ." He looked at the person.

She had short brown hair and wore all black. She was dressed like a cat with the ears and a tail.

"Meow . . ." She said and pretended to lick her paw. "What are you two fella's doing?" She asked.

"Looking for Candy Planet!" Neb yelled.

"Neb." Landon said angry because he wasn't suppose to tell anyone.

"Can I come?" The girl asked.

"No." Landon said.

"Please."

"No." Landon said as he walked away and Neb followed.

"Let me come or I'll tell."

Landon stopped. He knew if he didn't let her come he would never find Candy Planet.

"Fine." Landon agreed.

"Yay." She skipped over to him. "I'm Captain."

"No you're not." Landon said.

"I said I am Captain." She gave Landon a mean look.

"Okay, you're Captain." He said scared.

"I'm Kat. You can call me Kat or Captain. I am Kat Captain!"

"This girl is weird." Neb whispered to Landon.
