When Love Dies

Chapter 1

My name is Lux Butler. I'm 5'2 I have brownish, blond hair and I'm skinny, but not to skinny. I have 4 best friends Jordyn, Ariana, Jaime and Billy. Jordyn is the sweetest girl around, she's been there for me since diapers. Ariana is a little perverted but some times she can't help but go a little to far. Jaime is a fighter, I got to tell you, you do not want to be in her way when she's mad, or you're dead. Billy, Well he's a little confusing. He's a weird kid and I can't describe him. As for me, I might be a little bit of all my friends, which is why we are all friends, because we are a little bit of everyone. Then there's Mason, my crush since 1st grade. He hangs out with us at school, but he hasn't taken interest in me. But Jordyn swears he likes me. If that was so, why hasn't he told me yet?

It was Wednesday, half way through the week and the guys and I were talking before Mason got there.

"I know you guys think that Mason likes me but I don't know." I said and shrugged.

"Lux trust me we've been best friends forever! I know when a guy likes you and you know when a guy likes me. I mean was I wrong when I told you Roman liked you?" Jordyn said.

"You were right about Roman, but he was gross." I said. Just as soon as I said that, Mason comes strolling in with his best friend Casey.

"Hey Lux, guys." Mason said smiling at us. I smiled back at Mason while my heart fluttered like wild, just like everyday.

"hey Mason, Casey." We all said. Since everyone was here we started walking around school while waiting for the bell to ring. I had 1, 4, 5 and 6 with Mason.

That's my schedule his schedule is:

Jordyn had 1st and 6th with Mason, Ariana and I. Ariana has 1st, 2nd and 6th with me. I have no classes with Jaime or Billy. Mason and Jaime have 2nd and 3rd together. Everyone walked in front of me the way i liked it. I liked walking behind everyone, mostly to be able to stare at Mason the whole time, but he doesn't know that.

"Wow Mason, still hanging with those 4, I'd think you would have ditched them already." Some dude walking in the hall said.

"I don't ditch my friends un like you and other people at this school." Mason said. We had all stopped, I was standing in between Mason and the jerk. I knew Mason was going to take a swing at him, but not with me in his way.

"Lux get out of the way before you end up hurt." Mason said.

"Ya dork." The jerk said. I looked at the jerk then Mason. He looked mad.

"Mason don't do this, you'll get kicked out of school." I said. Mason's face softened. Jaime looked like she was about to punch the jerk herself. She must be irritated.

"Come on Mason he's not worth it." Casey said. Mason looked at the jerk then at Casey then at me, Mason surprisingly turned away and started walking.

"Wow, I have never seen him step away from a fight before." Ariana said. I shrugged and kept walking. After about 10 minutes of walking, the bell rang and the 4 of us walked to ASL. Casey has 3rd with me, so at least I know some one in every class. We walked into ASL and we all sat down. We had assigned seats so we couldn't sit by our friends. Our teacher was named Ms. Prayer and she is an awesome teacher. I'm not sure why she isn't married yet. We spend 50 minutes in each class, meaning we don't get out of school until 3, which kinda sucks but I guess it's alright. After ASL, Ariana and I walked to World Studies. I have to say World Studies is one of the most boring class ever, unless it's just the teacher. Mr.Boil. He has a really boring voice but at least Ariana is in that class, or I think I might die.

"So that was really weird this morning." Ariana said. I gave her a weird look.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"When you talked to Mason. He seemed to calm down, and he never clams down when he's about to get in a fight." Ariana said. At that moment, I started thinking about this morning, I was confused. Could it be true? Nah, it can't, maybe, what if it's true? Does Mason Rushton like me?
