When i woke up i was in the hospital, Elizabeth was leaning over me. My face hurt and i felt tired. "Ow." i gasped when Elizabeth gently brushed her finger over the stitches that i could now feel.

"You didn't have to do that." She said barely above a whisper.

"Yes i did" i started "he was trying to steal your seat again." The constant harassment started in 5th grade when Zack pushed pushed her for the first time. I didn't do anything because i didn't know her that well yet. People say that when boys tease you it's because they like you. He dosen't like her. He's gay and Elizabeth is the only one who knows so in order to keep his secret he outed her that same year. She's told me that they used to be best Friendsthat's when i started sticking up for her. As a result of homophobia and ignorance Elizabeth her been getting harassed ever since.

"I could have found another seat." she said smiling softly.

"What fun would that have been ?" i smiled back.

"You passed out, i was really worried about you." The tears i saw briefly before i blacked out made a reappearance.

"Why?" i said as i wiped away the solitary tear on her face. She sat in my hospital bed, i made space for her.

"... There was al-lot of blood. When Mr.Junefay turned around Zack already had the chair to where his friends were waiting. I was going to tell him that Zack did it but we were both freaking out. Me, Mr.Junefay, and Allyson were the first ones to call 911. After we did everyone else in the classroom did, even Zack." She turned her head "I think he did it so people wouldn't be  suspicious... i just wish me and Allyson weren't the only two who saw what happened."

I stared at her, her brown hair was pulled back in a messy bun. Her brown eyes were red with sadness. Her normally pale face with that wide smile was gone. The face she was wearing now was almost more red than her eyes and i wanted it to end. "Please stop crying... i'm fine." i tried to convince her, she looked away.

"The docter said that if her missed your cheek he could have hit your-you could have been b-bl-blinded or he could have poped your eye out."

I reached my hand up and touched my eye and gasped. He had come close. "Can i see your mirror?" i asked hopefully.

"Sure." she grabbed her bedazzled blue mirror out of her pocket and handed it to me.

I looked at my face. I had a scar that started in between the end of my right eye and my nose. It ended somewhere in the middle of my cheek. I looked at myself then at Elizabeth. "When did i get stitches?" i asked.

"When you were unconscious on the ride here the doctors called and asked if they could stitch it because if they left it open any longer it could have gotten infected."

I continued to examine my odd looking scar and black eye. The skin around both was re, purple, and swollen. It still hurt from when she touched it. "When did my parents leave?"

She laughed "About an hour ago."

"Oh." i said. Then some guy walked in.

"How are you?" he asked. He had on a official hospital-type outfit so i told him what he wanted to hear.

 "Good." i replied.

"Can you please leave i need to see the patient alone?" he said.

"Um..." Elizabeth hesitated,"O-ok." Then she left and i didn't see her for the rest of the day.
