Chapter [19]

Honey

Marcus Graham aka "Teddy", has never and will never be one of my favorite people to be around. With his dominating and belittling personality I could never really fall for a man like him. 3 years ago there was a possibility that there could be a chance for it but then again I was in love with the money and he had a lot of it. Him making my dream come true with luxury cars, flashy jewelry, and a three bedroom house to put it all in.

But even now with him standing there in the doorway dressed in his Michael Kors suit with a smirk look that I was itching to smack right off his face. Those wavering brown eyes scanned the room and sure enough landed on me. His full lips turned up into a coy smile. At that instant my stomach formed knots and I looked away to Zeke which was watching me the whole time.

I wondered if he noticed the interaction between us...

"Honey, this is Teddy. The man whose interested in buying the place from me for twice the amount of what it's worth." Big Poppa announced while smiling. "He's going to be your new boss."

"What?!" I shot up out of my seat the same time Zeke did. There was no way in hell this nigga was going to be my new boss. I wasn't going to allow it and apparently neither was Zeke. I shot him a dirty look. He acted as if this club was going to be his!

Not if I could fucking help it.

Big Poppa frowned at me. "You're not happy with that?"

I shook my head. I took a deep breath and sighed. In order for them to understand, I was going to have to tell them why this couldn't work, in front of Teddy.

"This man and I," I started as I pointed to Teddy. "Have a history. I used to date him 3 years ago. It's because of our history, that I can't work for him."

Big Poppa shook his head and then looked down at his son the. back to Teddy.

"That is a problem, I wish I knew this before I took his money." He lightly chuckled then nervously stopped when no one joined in. He cleared his throat then clapped his hands together.

"C'mon you two! This could be a could thing! With your experience with this business and his finances, this could be one of the most sought out clubs next to Magic City!"

Teddy and I looked at each other and I rolled my eyes. He smiled. "Honey, he's right." His deep baratone voice violated my ears. He clasped his hands together and rubbed them. Inching closer to me one step at a time. "We can make a great team. We were great when we were together, we can be one yet again."

Right then I wanted to tell him off. Tell him that I hated every fiber of his being, how I wanted to watch him fall off a bridge and drown or get ran over by a semi-truck. This man was the cause of my almost self destruction but for some odd reason as I looked into those deep brown eyes and watched him lick those full lips, I realized I couldn't argue with this one.

Teddy was the type to never give up and wether I agreed to this or not, he was going to find some other way to get close to me.

"I looked to Big Poppa with his pleading eyes, Zeke with an emotion that I couldn't read and Tyrone who just looked oh so confused. I fixed the hem of my black maxi dress, flipped my hair back over my shoulder and looked Big Poppa in the eyes. I couldn't run from this one but I was damn sure going to make rules.

"Fine. I'll stay and run it, but I want to see legal documents. I want my signature as well as his and a copy of it."

"Done."
