Greek

Flurries of white cold swirled throughout the air, freezing any exposed object. Indeed, just as it should have been in that area, at that time, the entire world seemed to be encased in snow. A planet of pure white. The particular area was a large field, a plain, if you will, that stretched on and on and on. And, as stated before, a thick blizzard had plagued every inch of it with a snowy illness.

In the midst of the snow there were several lumps, tiny mountains that were, you guessed it, human bodies. Some were sick, some bleeding, all unconscious. It seemed this way until one pair of eyes, a mismatching set, forced themselves open. A teenage boy sat up, coddling a nasty lump on his temple. Being the boy he was, he immediately began to examine himself.

First, a physical inspection. He pulled his cellphone, which was extremely hardy, from his pocket, peering at his reflection at the knot on his head. It felt bad, but didn't seem like a problem. With a quick glance down, our protagonist sucked in a sharp breath of chilly air. The snow around him was stained deeply with crimson blood. Even worse, his stomach was burning. Building up his bravery, he pulled away the fabric of his jacket, revealing the shredded torso of a suit top, and, beneath, a gaping wound, right in his abdomen. Butler was going to be upset when he woke.

Finding several other smaller wounds on his arms and legs, the boy switched to a mental investigation. Let's start with the important things. Name? Artemis Fowl II. Age? 19. Parents? Artemis Fowl senior and Angeline Fowl. Friends? His current acquaintances included Domovoi Butler, Holly Short, perhaps Minerva (he hadn't seen her for many months), and possibly Foaly if we're getting desperate. Eventually, he came to the most important question; What was he doing in that field? Why was he bleeding?

At first, Artemis Fowl's memories were fogged, but as his eyes scanned over the comatose bodies around him, he found his answer. Lying next to him was a teenage girl, two years younger than he, by the name of Marley Claryweather. Her long, mocha hair was tied an inch from their end with two sky blue ribbons, creating loose pigtails. She was peaceful, and, to any passing person, she would appear to be an average girl.

Artemis Fowl knew better.

Perhaps, it seems, I should tell you their story. That is, the part that hasn't already happened yet.

Remember, you've been warned.
