Status epilepticus.
Stroke.
Swelling in the brain.
Coma

The words were a swirl of repetition in my brain as I walked into the elevator leading up to my home. It was already past nine at night since I arrived at the hospital six hours ago.

But all I could see were the words running through my mind. And the image of him laying so still and cold on the hospital bed was slowly eating away at my sanity.

My hair was down and cascading around me looking reckless from the amount of times I'd ran my fingers through them. My skin ice cold and the world around me seeming to flow in a blur of motion.

One hand clenched my purse while the other geld on to the wall next to me. I needed a shower and a long sleep filled night. The lady part was hopeless because I already knee I was not getting any sleep tonight. I sigh running my hands through my black curls as the words the doctor had said danced and replayed through my mind.

Status epilepticus also known as multiple seizures in a row.
Stroke.
Swelling in the brain due to fall.
Coma

Uncle Raphael.

The image of how I'd seen him since I arrived there almost six hours ago washed through my brain. With his eyes closed and his usual light brown hair with graying undertones now disheveled and straw looking. Eyes so sunken and shrouded it makes me shiver just thinking about how I'd seen him.

The last time I'd seen him before all this was less than a week ago. He had been bad but not that bad.

His once bright smile he had always shown whenever he saw me was gone and replaced by a vacant look that made me want to grab his shoulders and shake him awake from this nightmare. But this was reality. And the only family I've ever known was in a coma after multiple seizures leading to a stroke that had him falling down two flights of stairs.

The entire story was unreal and sounded almost ridiculous that so many bad things could happen to someone so kind.

I jumped slightly at the sound of the elevator doors signaling I was home. My bag falls open on the floor as a bunch of things spewed out including gum wrappers, makeup, lipgloss and a couple of other useless junk I could replace. The doors open and I'm still frozen, starring at the things on the floor. Contemplating whether to just leave them there or pick them up.

With the millionth sigh that day, I went to my knees grabbing and shoving stuff in my bag. The doors begin to close and I turn towards them trying to press the stop button before they fully closed.

"No, no, wait." I cry as they closed shut and my hands landing on cold metal. I groan out a found, a cross between exhaustion and anger as my head falls forwards. Then a soft ding had the doors swinging back open unexpectedly and I quick find myself falling forwards only for my head to land on someones thigh.

My eyes widen as my nails dig into the firm, strong thigh muscles, clad in dress pants. My face is right against a hot bulge which I quickly realize was a semi but quickly growing erection.
