"That's the last of it, no?” Niall heaved a trunk of clothes into our flat. I smiled, he was so adorable. He wiped his brow of sweat and collapsed on the sofa.
I watched him lie there for a minute. The other boys were setting up their flats now as well. Danielle was over helping Liam, Niall and I were doing it ourselves, Zayn and his older sister were unloading all of his things, and then Louis and Harry were already moved in.
I cracked my knuckles and started over to all of our bags sitting on the floor. “I think we should get started on putting everything away.”
He groaned and flipped over. “I’m tired.”
Sighing, I went over and sat on him. He grunted, “UGH. Get offa’ me!”
“THEN HELP ME UNPACK!” I screamed in his ear. Laughing, he pushed me onto the floor. The flat was extremely nice. Large rooms with white walls and hardwood floors. The windows were huge and let a beautiful glow in the room as the sun was setting. Our living room was basically vacant besides the sofa and matching chairs we had delivered. We needed to do a lot more shopping for this apartment.
“The lads are going to be coming over soon and if they see we haven’t done anything we won’t be able to live together, Nialler.”
He jumped out of the seat and ran over to our things, grabbing some books of mine and placing them on a built in bookshelf near the brick fireplace.
We finished setting up the living room with the little things we had for it. It was still pretty bare; we needed to spend our free day tomorrow at the furniture shoppe.
A knock sounded at the door. Niall’s head whipped around to look at it. “I think that should either be my Aunt Anne or it will be Harry…” I presumed, Anne had been there to keep an eye on Harry today.
“Want to put money on that? I say it’s Zayn or Liam!” He said, proceeding to the door.
“5 bucks says it’s one of mine!” I answered, pulling out some throw pillows for the couch.
“You’re on!” He said, opening the door. I heard him mumble some hellos to someone.
Two pairs of shoes clicked in the hall on the way here. I fixed my outfit a bit and out of the hall submerged, Harry. Niall was glowering behind him at the fact he owed me money.
I gave him an I told you so look and smiled. “Hey, Haz.” I said, trying not to break out in laughter at Niall’s losing face.
“Hey Annie… you two want to come get dinner? I think we’re going to get pizza. Oh, and Louis wanted me to ask if you wanted to come over for a house-warming party…it’s not even a house though.” He shrugged waiting for a response.
I looked to Niall; he didn’t seem all too thrilled about having an interrupted evening after what I had promised him. But we couldn’t say no or else Harry wouldn’t leave until he found a way to get us fighting so then I’d have to live with Liam or something.
“Erm, yeah…that sounds good. When are you leaving for dinner?” I asked, Niall gave me the eye and I scowled at him.
He glanced at his wristwatch, “Ehm, probably round 7 or so…we’ll call before we leave.”
I nodded, Harry looked back at Niall and Niall’s face instantly broke into a smile for Harry. Harry eyed him suspiciously, “Well, I guess I’ll see you two later then.” He said, scratching his head and awkwardly walking out of the flat.
Niall groaned and walked over to me. “Why’d you tell him yes?”
I rolled my eyes, “Because if I said no, on our first night alone, it would seem awfully suspicious, don’t you agree?”
He thought about it for a moment until he realized I was right. He bit down on his bottom lip and sort of pouted. He looked so adorable when he didn’t get his way. “Nialler, at the house party we just say you don’t feel well and then we can leave early, alright?”
He planted a kiss on my forehead, “Sounds like a plan, love.”
“I need to get ready if we’re leaving at 7. It’s already 6 and I look like a disaster!” I mumbled, looking through a suitcase. It turned out to be Niall’s. I sighed, zipping it shut and opening mine. I grabbed the first outfit at the top, a pair of skinny jeans and an I love NYC shirt. I’ve never been there but I’ve always wanted to. It seemed so…intriguing.
“You look fine, Annie. You don’t have to change!” He said grabbing the clothes out of my hand and tossing them back to my bag.
