Getting Derek away from the hospital was the hardest thing to do. But, after a few hours of pleading with him and almost getting kicked out by the hospital staff, we finally got him home. Sylvia's parents were a mess when I explained what had been going on the past two years. They both wanted search parties to go out and kill Charles but they wanted to be the ones that killed him. Thankfully Chris calmed them both down and said they if Charles was seen near the territory they would be notified and he would let them be apart of the group that went to kill him.
When I got to school the next morning Derek looked like a man that hasn't seen the sun in years. There were prominent black marks under his eyes and while his friends were trying to cheer him up he kept staring at the table where Sylvia usually sat. I looked at him and sighed. He reminded me of myself six months ago. Well me before I got worse. Me before I became the worst drunk ever and biggest druggie. I don't remember three months of my life and that's the worst part of it all. Everyone always assured me that I didn't do anything all that bad but I still got that bad feeling every now and then.
I made my way over to him and I slapped him upside the head. He let out a low deadly growl and turned to look at me. His green eyes were blazing.
"Derek Anthony Heartwood! Don't you dare growl at me like that again," I snapped. His glare softened and he looked up at me apologetically.
"You've been trained to be an alpha female haven't you," someone said. I looked over and saw the guy that knew about the triplets and me being the seducer. I nodded my head and looked back at Derek only to see him looking at her old seat again. Swiftly, I smacked him upside the head again.
"Smile," I demanded. He rubbed the back of his head and gave me an irritated look and made sure to frown even more. I sighed and threw my bag down onto the table. Turing towards the rest of the guys I motioned for them to leave and they thankfully did.
"Smile dammit. She'll be awake in at least two days. Then you can grovel at her feet and do all the stuff I don't want to know you guys do. Just no kids," I joked trying to get him to at least show some kind of emotion. Instead of smirking at me like he usually would he gave me a tight forced smile. Groaning frustrated I straddled him on his legs so it wasn't too awkward. I pulled out both of the necklaces I wore everyday. The protection necklace and the engagement ring necklace. I held the necklace with the engagement ring up to his face.
"This is something a mate would wear if her mate died. Instead I wear it like some pathetic girl that lost the damn love of her life. But you know what? I really did lose the love of my life. He died six months ago and my heart went with him. Ya know when he died? A damn week before our wedding. A damn week before he was going to mark me. Instead fate makes damn sure that every damn mate ends up together even if it's death. So no matter what you're going to end up with Sylvia. I've already accepted the fact that I'm most likely gonna die young cause I refuse to end up with that thing," I ranted. By the end of it I was starting to tear up.
"Hey, it's okay sis," Derek said, holding me against his chest. "I refuse to let anything happen to you. If Gunner even thinks about trying anything I'll kill him," he murmured into my hair. Then he kissed the top of my head. I closed my eyes and breathed in his scent, letting it calm me.
"Hey give me a sec. Gunner's going on about some new guy or something," he muttered. I got off of him and wiped away my tears. He kissed me on the forehead and made his way to the parking lot. There was a crowd of their friends surrounding something. Something that was close to where my bike was parked. Confused, I walked over to them to figure out what was going on.
"Who are you and what are you doing here," Gunner demanded. I already saw him shaking and all his friends were popping their knuckles.
"Just a person here to visit some people," a familiar voice lazily replied. There was a crowd starting to form. Everyone ready for a fight and to protect their alpha.
"Ya know I'm pretty well known for beating everyone. That's why I have this tattoo on my arm," the lazy voice said. My eyes widened as it all clicked into place. I ran through the crowd not caring how many people I pushed out of the way. I ended up being next to Derek and a huge smile broke out on my face. In front of me, sitting on my bike, was the person I never thought I'd see here.
Trey. He got off the bike and he smirked.
"You're here," I squealed, running towards him. When I was close I jumped onto him, wrapped my legs around him, squeezed him tight.
"Can't breathe," he choked out as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Deal with it, asshole," I muttered. Then I jumped off him and hit his arm as hard as I could. "Not one phone call or text." I cocked my hip to the side, folded my arms across my chest and looked at him expectantly. Then I took a in breath of air and something smelled off about him. He had his usual smell but there was another scent mixed in. My jaw dropped and my eye became big saucers as I figured it out. He looked at me uncomfortably.
I opened my mouth to scream in joy but he covered my mouth so my scream came out muffled.
"Asshole," I muttered hitting his chest. He chuckled and hugged me again,
"Sis who is this," Derek asked.
"I'm Trey," Trey answered, holding out his hand.
"The asshole," I muttered. Trey looked at me pointedly and I gave him an innocent look.
"I see you found your mate,"Tyler said, coming out of no where. I glared at Trey.
"And he didn't tell me," I fake sniffed causing Derek and Trey to roll their eyes. The bell rang making everyone jump and rush inside. By the time I was going to class the halls were empty and my footsteps echoed throughout the halls.
"Well well well. If it isn't little miss get around," a whiny voice said behind me. I stopped and shook my head.
"Now now now Silla it's awfully bad to be talking about yourself like that," I replied, turning around and smirking. She growled at me but was interrupted by her phone going off. When she looked at the caller id her face lit up like a little kid's on Christmas.
"Hey Cameron baby," she said into the phone, completely ignoring me. I looked at her strangely before I walked away. As I made my way to class I was thinking about Cameron. That name sounded so familiar. I found myself in front of my first hour but before I opened the door the name hit me. Cameron was the name of the fiance of Brynn's mate. The whole reason Brynn was rejected by his mate. Last I saw Cameron was when he killed Brynn. The Cameron Priscilla was talking to couldn't be the same Cameron. Right?
