Empty Promises
chapter 1
" Oh princess, that day would come, i know it, but not now, you're too young," that's what my dad said when I told him about Dylan's proposal to me.
We were 6 years old, he brought me to our favorite place, under the school slide, and took out a beautiful ring made of cardboard. "Will you marry me, Meg?" he asked. I was shocked, of course, so for a moment i was just there staring at him.
"Don't worry, i'll ask my mommy for money & buy you a real ring. I promise!"
"No, i love this ring! And yes, i will marry you! But i have to ask daddy first." I dragged him to my house & quickly asked my dad. You already know what happened next.
" I hate you, Daddy!"
"Meg, you and Dylan are perfect for each other, but you are way too young. If you wait a bit then ask again, I promise i'll say yes." he replied
"... Fine." I responded
"Don't be sad, Meg, I will marry you when we grow older."
"Promise?"
"I Promise!" Dylan said with a big smile on his face. He hugged me tight then continued, "I will marry you."
