In My Darkness: La Chatte Noire

Introduction -- Very Important

This story is fanfiction based on a long-standing love of mine -- the love for Erik Destler, the Phantom of the Opera. If you have not seen or read the Phantom of the Opera, turn back now before it's too late. Oh, and go watch the musical. Now.

For those of you who know Erik -- and love him, I assume -- my personal version of Erik is a rather strange mix. He had the looks of Gerard Butler from the 2004 movie, with the voice of Michael Crawford and the past of the original Fantôme de l'Opéra. I love him very much and he will always be with me.

I grew up with the Phantom and have been in love with him for a very, very long time. Now that I have started writing fanfiction, it seems only right that he has his own and is honored among the collection.

I would appreciate hearing from you at any and all intervals -- please, if you read this, comment and vote, let me know that you like it. It's a change from the usual pace. I think you might like my main character once you get to know her. The only question is whether or not she'll like you. My character will answer any and all of your questions should you pose them to her, and so will Erik. There is no reason why they wouldn't.

IMPORTANT: A good amount of this story -- in all likelihood, about half of it -- is written in French. Yes, all foreign languages will be in italics and there will be a translation beside them for some time -- eventually, I hope you will remember the more common phrases and I'll stop having to translate them. I have been speaking French for a decade and therefore some phrases will not be translated the same in a translator such as Google. Do not rely on them. If I don't tell you the meaning of a word and you wish to know, you can message me or leave a comment and I'll give you the meaning in context.
