Voting is so important. Here's why:
1.) Votes show up on people's newsfeeds. If someone votes on your book, all of their followers will see that they liked it. These followers will see the book blurb and might want to check it out!
2.) Votes help get your book up the charts. Charts are important for several reasons, but more on that later. Primarily, the higher you are on the charts, the more likely people are to find your book.
3.) Votes give you credibility. If you have a lot of votes, it means your book might be worth reading!
How to get them:
1.) At the end of each chapter, put a simple reminder for people to vote if they liked the chapter. It's that simple. Most people don't mind doing it, they just forget to.
2.) Thank people when they do vote (until there are so many that you just don't have the time). They were kind enough to do it, why not let them know how much you appreciate it.
