Now and then I think of when we were together

Like when you said you felt so happy you could die

Told myself that you were right for me

But felt so lonely in your company

But that was love and it's an ache I still remember

The grass under Amelia’s feet was scratching her skin, but she hardly cared. It was like he was hypnotising the young girl with his beauty. His dark golden skin the colour of deep summer honey, his black straight hair shining and falling in soft peaks around his face, but it was the eyes that drew her closer. So blue they seemed like stalagmites coming down from the skies and piercing her with a love potion, he of course knew this and played up to his beauty with a light blue shirt pushed up at the elbows to show powerful, flat lean forearms.

“Why do you blush, My Beauty?” He asked his soft lilting French accent only accentuated by his impeccable English.

She shook her head slowly; about to tell him how much his being simply in the same garden as her had this effect, but something glinting in those steely blue eyes told her that he already knew exactly what he was doing to her.

“In that case, I must Angel give you something to really blush about”. He said wickedly, his brow lifting slightly as he began to walk slowly towards her. Amelia’s breath caught in her throat as she looked at his face. A strong almost sharp jaw was clean shaven leading up to slightly concave cheekbones so high it would take a sky diver to jump from them, his straight black brows like two lines of paint swiped across his face, a straight noble nose all led down to naturally pouting lips that looked seductive in any light.

Amelia felt herself stand before her brain processed what had happened, and before she knew it she was in his arms. Suddenly clouds blew over the previous sunny patch on which they stood, beside her mother’s stables. The ice blue eyes once as soft as a puddle began to harden and chip in front of her eyes, the soft coaxing words spoken in the softest French whisper began to be replaced by spitting harsh words that even a non-French speaker like her understood as animosity and malicious.

He pushed her away, looking at her up and down, no longer lingering like he once had. The clouds above them opened letting way to rain so thick and fast Amelia found herself clutching her arms for warmth and to cover up her now nearly translucent white summer dress.

“Look at you, pathetic child. I’ve got what I came for”. He smiled nastily walking away only to laugh at her while her stomach ballooned and their child kicked inside her.

Amelia sat bolt upright, her eyes wide with fear and her face drenched with sweat. She hadn’t dreamt of him for so long now she almost thought she had in some sense put the whole horrible situation behind her. Fumbling under the sheets she patted her flat stomach feeling the deadness inside her grow tenfold when she found it flat as a pancake.

Tearing her hair out she stood up and walked over to the window of the marginally impressive room. The Maldives sky the same colour as his eyes, boring into her sleepy gaze with an almost evilness.

She knew why the memories had returned, because of that beautiful obnoxious bastard pursuing her like he once had. Though physically they looked the polar opposites of one another, Sebastian had the kind of exotic beauty of a mythical bird floating around enjoying the apt looks of awe others sent in his direction. The man behind her downfall was more like a falcon or a peacock, beautiful and noble looking but with mean streak so great it made her shake in a cold sweat despite the warm morning.

Routing around in her emergency case she pulled out a cigarette, an addiction she had found during her times of need in the last two horrible years since he left her. Pulling the sweet smoke deep inside her she found that the images and memories that she had fought so hard to keep quelled deep inside her were beginning to rear their ugly heads again.
