i loved him
he made me love him
he made fun of me for it
welcome to my world
he lied and blinked his blue eyes
he can’t make me hate him
no matter how much i try
i can’t despise him
no matter how much i want to
he never wanted me
the way my mind works
the light went out
empty heart
what’s going to fill it up
the trouble is
i miss him often
i never want to see his face again
but i miss him all the same
the pain’s not worth it
and neither should he be
i’ve been told he wasn’t worth me
but i feel it the other way around
if the one i wanted wasn’t good enough
who the heck will be
the sky bleeds with snow
my heart bled salt
how does it beat
swollen as it is
how does your heart beat
when there’s no one to hold it safe
lock it in a box
and throw away the key
how do you keep it safe
swallow and choke
choke out the life that beats
a caged bird flutters within
and nobody sets it free
