This my first story so bare with me! :) Thanks for trying this out, I hope you like it.

Honestly, I have no idea why I'm on this field trip. I mean, I know why, but not going should've been an option. We where set up into groups of three, and guess who got with paired up with two boys.
Yup, this girl.
I wouldn't mind only if one of them wasn't the most annoying and hardheaded male on the planet and the other didn't try to flirt with me every few minutes. I actually like history and the thought of knights, sword fighting, and classical music instead of the same old dance music.
The thing is, I wish I could go to the museum on my own time. Teachers are watching you, you have a time limit, and the worst of them all, you get a worksheet to fill out. The Museum of Ancient Europe and Renaissance seemed like a cool place...just not now.
"Scar...whats the answer?" Tim whispered, glancing at my questions and answers for the coat of arms right in front of us. I scooted away, so he couldn't see my worksheet.
"No. Thats cheating," I answered a little snippily. Having this guy pester me all day is starting to catch up.
"Come on, Scarlet. Work with me here!" I didn't know if he meant with being friendly or with the schoolwork.
"Scarlet." Sam called me over. Thank God! I'll take Mr. Annoy over Mr. Flirt any day. Looking behind me, I saw Sam looking at armor of a knight, like a shell on the beach. Once lived in, but now hollow.
"Yeah?"
"Come here." I huffed, but walked over anyway.
"Yes, Sam?" He was quiet. "Sam." Silence. "Hello?"
He glance at me. "Nothing. Never mind."
I let out a very loud frustrated breath, "Oh, you guys drive me crazy!"
Tim slid up next to me, "I like 'em crazy."
I must have sounded like an vexed whinnying horse.

By the end of the day, I wanted to rip my hair right out and have a huge tantrum. I won't though, because sixteen-year-olds don't do that.
The Museum was about to close and Tim and Sam were nowhere to be found. I knew they weren't on the bus. Looked there. Not in the Hallway of Knights, Coat of Arms Cove, Ballroom Reenactment, or Royal Antiques. They were in the bathroom or Gallery of England's Nobles.
The guys might most likely be in the bathroom, but I love pictures and paintings, so I started to make my way over to the Gallery first.
As I walked in, I saw a flash of amber on the floor. Stopping in mid step, I looked back to the spot and found a ring. The jewel wasn't amber, but a honey color. It had a few pieces of metal that were shaped into leaves twisted around the nickel sized gem. In the middle of the gem as a lion, engraved in gold.
I remember seeing a bunch of these in the Museum's gift shop!
A few steps later, I scooped the ring up and looked closer at it. Promising that I would give it back, I slipped it on my right index finger and found happily that it fit. Maybe I'll buy it.
A thought brought me back: Tim and Sam. I went on walking, peeking around corners and double checking behind me. Nada. Disappointed, I came to a dead-end.
The wall didn't have much on it, just a full body painting of a boy around my age, leaning on a horse. His hair was a light chestnut brown that looked disheveled, yet neat enough for someone important. His lips played a smirk, it was friendly, no trace of arrogance. The boy's skin glowed with a light tan that mixed with his hair perfectly. And his eyes! They were the brightest blue you could've imagined. He had a uniform on...military?
My eyes locked with the sword that hung from his waist and cape on his back. High-ranked. Bending down, I read the information plate. William III. Prince of England. 1452-1469. Wow, not that descriptive. Wait...he died when he was seventeen? Jeez, that sucks. I looked up at the portrait again.
He almost seems real, this painter must have been the best there is! I reached up and touched William's shoulder with my right hand.
All of the sudden, the flat surface of the portrait turned real and a body started to fall, right on top of me.
What did I just do?
