Book One: Dreamscapes Of Relativity

The Universe.

"Oh God! Tis one of those stories again!" I hear you cry. You know the ones. They start all deep and pensive and turn out to be another vampiric/lupine related love story regarding forced marriage and so on and so forth. But nay this story has no such ploys to it. Well ok it does, I mean what good story has no romance in it? But I digress. It is a tale of loved ones lost and found, of great injustices being righted and of an adventure of epic proportions. It may probably also have naughty bits in it. Now to go back to my original point: The Universe.

It is massiveand that's only including the observable part. The Earth, relatively speaking, is a speck of miniscule dust wafting its way through the celestial winds. It is tiny and there is an enormous amount of things that could happen in the Universe that could potentially rip it to shreds. Supernovas, black holes, giant asteroids, Unicron (Google it, he's out there) are amongst a few of them my friends. However, the point being is that they haven't. The planet has been around for 4.54 Billion years and not once has any of that happened that could have potentially buggered the planet hardcore. Well except that whole affair with the dinosaurs but that is a contested topic in itself and frankly they had it coming to them the way they were carrying on...

Nay, the biggest threat to mankind is unfortunately mankind itself. The fiery flames of war and hatred are by far a more probable cause of extinction than ever a mile wide chunk of ice and rock could be. But what would cause such widespread devastation to occur? The Butterfly Effect theorem states that a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil may cause a tornado to occur in Texas. It's hilarious if you ask me, but no one does. It is the idea that the smallest change to the start of a process will lead to immensely varying results. You farting at the wrong time and in the wrong place could potentially lead to your parents divorcing or killing each other. Again I digress.

Our story is to do with a man who is not a man and the journeys of him and his friends. But he is not special. Nay my listeners, this man is ordinary. He has no cool scars marking greatness, no secret royal blood, no one ring to rule them all, not even an abnormally large manhood. He has nothing to distinguish himself from another except the obvious. Oh he has a courageous heart and a good brain of course (as every hero must have) but he is the one you only look at once. This man is not special in any way...

Other than the fact that he has butterfly wings. Yes my friends, those proverbial wings. One flap could lead to a whirlwind adventure full of excitement, romance, nightmares and joy. Or to the aforementioned devastation and complete destruction of mankind. And quite possibly (because it is in the annoying nature of such stories), both. How? Well it wouldn't do to just tell you the good bits now would it?! Nay my good people, life is not so easy. Listen to my story, the story of Dreamscapes within the Realms of Reality...
