3 years earlier...

Violet dropped the test into the sink, backing away in horror and her eyes glossed over with tears. As if on instinct, her hands moved to cup her mouth in shock. She slowly slid down the wall and buried her head in her knees, sobbing quietly. Her perfectly done makeup now rolled down her cheeks in streaks as she sat on the bathroom floor in her boyfriend's mothers house. The cold tiles pressed against her bare legs, making her whole body erupt in goosebumps, not helping to stop the tears.

"Violet, hun! Come say goodbye." Her boyfriend's mum, Anne shouted through the white door.

"I'm- I'm coming!' Violet said, trying to keep her voice from wavering as she shakily wiped the tears from her face, slowly standing from the door and walking out to greet everyone crowded around the front door. Everyone from her boyfriend's family was here to say goodbye to him, as he went off to audition for the X Factor, to live his dream.

"Vi? Why are you crying?" Harry asked with concern flooding his voice as he rushed over to his girlfriend. She just shook her head and sniffled, her gaze on the floor.

"Just- Just sad to see you go." She said, Harry's arms immediately wrapping around her for comfort. She shook, sobbing into his neck as she gripped him tightly, inhaling his musky scent of mint and cologne. Deep down, it was way more than just the fact he was leaving that caused her tears. She just let him think that, for now.

"Remember, I'll come visit, but while I'm gone.. We should probably just go our separate ways." He whispered in her ear, repeating the words he had said to her earlier. Violet just nodded and sobbed harder, clinging onto him for her dear life as she faced the hard truth,

She was pregnant, and Harry was leaving.

Present day...

"April!" Violet shouted, smiling big as she bent down, opening her arms wide for her little, bouncing toddler to crash into.

"Mummy!" Her daughter shouted, her pigtails bouncing as she ran into her mum's arms, and wrapping her short arms around her neck. Violet giggled quietly, hugging the fragile girl back tightly and rocking back and forth.

"Hi baby. Did you have a good day?" She smiled, pulling back and watching as her little girl jumped and nodded.

"Good." She laughed, leaning down to grab her small hand and waving good bye to Karen as she opened the door, the harsh London air wiping their hair back. On instinct, Violet scooped the small girl in her arms and holding her close to her side. Violet had a car, an old beat down one, but a car. Violet just didn't like to waste that gas when a car isn't needed, especially with how high the gas prices were currently, the family of to may have been in a good place, but not good enough to afford the high gas prices everytime they went out. She was only walking a few blocks, and didn't think it was worth the gas, or the money, so she took her chances.

"Now, how about some ice cream?" Violet smiled, watching her daughter nod her head vigorously. She just laughed and walked to the nearest ice cream parlor and setting her daughter down once they were safely sheltered behind the doors of the ice cream shop. The bright colored walls and sweet smell hit Violet almost immediately, making her fell like a little girl once again, all giddy and happy. Violet grabbed her hand once again and let her choose her flavor of ice cream, settling with bubblegum as Violet just got plain vanilla, never being the one to chose or try the new crazy and colourful flavors, April had obviously gotten her adventorous side from Harry.
