Run Little Girl... (Watty Awards 2012)

A bead of sweat drip down Ariel’s face. She starts to scream as the man comes closer and closer to her. Ariel turns around and runs into the maze behind her. She twist and turns through the maze and looks back. The man is right behind her. As she exits the maze she trips on a root. She hears footsteps running up behind her. She turns and the man is standing above her. He reaches down.

Ariel bolts up, screaming on the couch. As she looks around she notices the television is on. She turns it off and heads to her bedroom, but once she steps in the hallway and looks downstairs she lets out a blood curling scream. Downstairs there were spiders, snakes and lizards slithering and crawling around. On top of all the animals layed her parents, only the skeletons remaining. Ariel runs to her room but stops short as she hears the cracking of wood. She stops and turns into the study and sees all her loved ones burning in a fire. Now crying, she runs to her room, slamming the door and turning around, she screams again when she sees her room is covered with blood.

She screams with tears streaming down her face.
