Continuation of Breaking Dawn- Chapter 5
"Done." Edward called mildly. My eyes wandered, searching for him, and I saw him there, an elk laying at his feet.
"Dammit!" Emmett called. "That's one elk!" He said, obviously impressed. My eyes bulged out of my head.
"No way!" Alice giggled.
"It's quite impressive, isn't it?" Edward said, grinning.
"Indeed, it is." Jasper commented, eyeing the large elk.
"Daddy! How did you catch the monster?!" Renesmee breathed, astounded.
"I found him drinking by the lake. I just went for him, quickly, and he was down in a matter of seconds." Edward explained.
"Show off...." Alice said lightly. Edward stood up and lunged at her, but she was suddenly behind him. We all laughed in unison.
"Dammit...." Emmett repeated, lost in thought.
"It's okay, Emmett. It was just a game." Alice said, rubbing his shoulder. He laughed.
"But I can't believe I lost....To Edward!" Emmett groaned.
"Emmy, it's okay! Daddy's just better than you," Renesmee tried to sympathize, "It's not your fault!" Emmett looked up at her, then at Edward, and bared his teeth. Edward laughed hystarically at what Renesmee had said.
"Bella, you look really thirsty. Let's try and focus on what we came here to do." Jasper said sternley. I mearly nodded, and looked around at half of my family. 'I am so lucky', is what I couldn't help but think.
"Come on, love." Edward said, wrapping his arm around my waist. I went to kiss his cheek, but he turned his face, and got me on the lips.
"Ew! Momma, Dad, gross!" Renesmee cried at our visual display of affection. Edward and I chuckled, along with the the rest of the grown-ups. Renesmee just scowled.
"Okay, Bella, remember what I told you about keeping your clothes clean...." Edward laughed at the thought of me hunting, probably more about what I looked like afterwards, dirt and mud covered, twigs in my hair, blood running down my face, on to my shirt....
"I'll try!" I laughed.
"Just stay calm. That's all it is. You're still fairly new to this, so it's not out of the ordinary. Do not panic." Edward eyed me.
"Don't worry, I'm not due for a panic attack until tomorrow!" I cried.
"Bella, love, Renee's visit will go fine, beautifully, probably. She misses you. More than you could ever imagine...." Edward trailed off, pain glimpsing through his eyes. 'Oh, I know!' I thought silently to myself, thinking of my mother's innocent face, and her crazy ways. I missed her more than he could ever imagine, but I won't bring it up, because he'll get really upset with himself. He still hated what I had to give up to live this life, but this wasn't his choice. It was mine, and I would not change it for the world. I was meant to be a vampire.
"I love you. I'm extremely happy. More happy then I've ever been, ever will be," I told Edward sincerely, "Don't fret on the past, because it's still partially in my life. I see Charlie, I'll see Renee, and Jacob never leaves." I told him, taking his face and cradling it in my hands. I felt him drop his weight in my palms and I kissed him. I heard no 'EWS!' or 'GET A ROOM!', so I looked around. We were alone. I heard Renesmee shouting excitedly, and Emmett's booming laughter, so I knew they weren't far away, but they obviously couldn't see us. Edward straightened up, and kissed me softly, tenderly, passionatly. These were my favourite, because they seemed to last forever. It felt as if everything was put on paue, like we were the only two people on Earth, no time limit on how long we stay. Well, the last part was true, anyway.
"And I love you," He answered in his velvet voice, "More than you could ever know".
