Hello my lovely fans!
Okay, so this a short story I wrote specifically for the mystery/suspense writting contest. When I had first found out about the contest I wasn't planning on participating in it due to the fact that I've never written a mystery/suspense.
But then my mom confronted me about it and asked why I wasn't going to partake in it. After a little bit of persuading she finally conveiced me to give it a try. I've never written a short story before, nor have I written a mystery/suspense but I decided to try and challenge myself. That is when "Isolated Youth" was born. Also I'd like to add, though it was difficult I managed to keep the word count under 10,000 words. XD
I hope you all enjoy this story. Please Comment on it and vote if you enjoyed it.

Place: Kenora
I stood outside Lee's Motel; a small run down motel in a little City called Kenora. The Motel was disgusting it smelt of old cigars mixed in with musky mold. The rooms were far from perfect with old wooden tables, stale smelling fridges and stained bedding. Last night I sat at the table, desperately denying myself the bed in fear of whatever critters laid within the mattress; I peered out the window as a bunch of drugged out teens went to the room next to me where I'm guessing a drug dealer was staying. The room on the other side of me belonged to a fake blonde haired prostitute who brought at least fourteen different guys to her room all throughout the night.
This place was the complete opposite of what I was use to. I lived with my parents; Loranne and Evan Jones, two rather wealthy adults who were big on Christianity, they tried hard to protect me from the 'big cruel' world. They had never touched drugs in their lives, waited until marriage before having sex and were utterly against any profound words. The most I had ever seen them drink was a glass of wine every night with their supper and that was it.
Personally, I think my parents constant nagging; trying to force me to be that perfect little angel was the reason for my sudden rebelling. If they would have just left me alone to be a teen, to make my own mistakes-instead of forbidding me to do anything but go to church and school then maybe I wouldn't have ran away. Maybe I wouldn't have been in this cheap run down hotel with barely any money in my pockets and attempting to meet a guy I met over the internet.
It was about a month ago when I snuck on my parent's computer while they were out volunteering at a homeless shelter. I met a nice boy who was about 18; he was sweet, funny and made me feel so good about myself. He sent me pictures of him and sheesh was he ever cute. Light brown hair that went just passed his ears, deep blue eyes, square set jaw and light natural muscles. We would talk for hours on the computer whenever I could get on, days went by and I began to fall for him more and more.
He offered to come up to Winnipeg to meet me, to bring me out on an actual date but when I confronted my parents about going on a date they freaked. They said I had more important responsibilities than going out with some 'boy' but he wasn't just some boy, he was thee boy. I was in love with him and at that moment I realized I could no longer abide by my parents rules. I packed my bags, grabbed all the money out of my piggy bank and took the first bus to Kenora. If he couldn't come see me, then I would go see him.
As soon as I checked into Lee's Motel, I asked to use their computer. It took a little bit of persuading them but they finally gave in as I quickly logged onto my email and send Keagan a message.
Dear, Keagan.
How are you doing? My parents wouldn't let me to go on a date with you :(
but the good news is I couldn't wait to see you. I love you and I want to see you so bad. So... I'm in Kenora! :) I ran away from home and took a bus here. I found a cheap Motel that I'm staying at right now, maybe you know of it "Lee's Motel"? Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to come see me, maybe pick me up tomorrow evening at around seven o'clock?
I miss you and Love you lotsss
