“ Rayna!Get Uppppp!!!” I heard a voice say in the back of my mind and I yawned soflty.Groaning I Rolled over in the bed and pushed the pillow down on my head to droned out the voices.
“Hey maybe she’s Dead!” I frowned and heard a slap. Definitely someone hitting the back of Marcus’s head and I laugh.
“Shut up! Just cause she embarrassed you in front of the pack you don’t have to be a jerk!” Kelly snapped and I laughed sitting up in bed. “Um..Hi guys… What are you all doing here?”I asked quietly and bit my bottom lip softly and glanced up wiping my eyes. “Wheres Cade?”I ask and look up seeing Kelly,Marcus, and Jessica in the room and I frown lightly.
“Oh! They had to go check the eastern border..something about hearing strange noises coming from Sector 33 and 32.They wanted to make sure it was okay before we all met up later.They‘ve been gone for an hour so they should be back now and setting up for the bon fire down by the lake.”She smiled down at me.I nodded and got out of bed and blushed lightly, feeling a pain in my shoulder and laughed moving my shirt so that it covered my mark, and I wouldn’t have to deal with upcoming questions or smart remarks from them about Cade already marking me as his mate.
“Bon fire? I didn’t hear anything about that e-”I started but was interrupted.
“
Cade said for us to tell you that he would see you later tonight their….Were all going down by the lake for a little relaxation since today‘s been really hectic on all of us…especially our alpha female since she’s a little younger than the rest of us.” Kelly smiled playing with a piece of her hair and she looked up at me and wiggled her eyebrows and smiled suggestively at me.. “Seems to me like you’ve got the big bad alpha wrapped around your finger already hm?“ She smiled. I shrugged not really interested in what she thought or not. It was none of her business and my wolf didn’t like her sniffing around me Or my mate for that matter. The way She talked about him…I didn’t like.It didn’t seem Casual as to others it would seem. But it wasn’t, her glancing at the family photo gave away that much and I sighed not wanting to cause trouble here.
“ I guess…How did you guys like your new houses?” I asked getting up and going through my bag to find a jacket to wear out at this time of night, Trying to change the subject to get it off of me I smiled. Glancing up and Saw Marcus wrap his arm around Jessica and smirk. “I’d say it went pretty well its nice.” Jessica smiled and she laughed lightly rolling her eyes looking up at Marcus and laughed lightly. “That’s good.” I said simply and yawned and looked at them.
“Mine’s alright…Mick just likes to sleep a lot. That’s all he did when we got here, and Unless Mai hadn’t of helped me I don’t think he would have gotten up to go on patrol with the guys.” She shrugged stretching out her arms and stood up glancing at a few of mine and Cade‘s things. I nodded and looked up zipping up my jacket and smiled and laughed, Marcus seemed keen on marking her by the way they stood but she seemed somewhat standoffish and really quiet to me. Tugging on my old blue converse from the side of the dresser and smiled. “Alright I’m ready lets get going.”
Thirty minutes later after walking down a path through the woods, a faint glow rose on the horizon and I glanced at the others around me.Them seem to not have noticed I stayed in the back of the pack smiled lightly. Hearing Kelly talk about how sweet and kind and caring she hoped her mate was Drivning me nuts and I had to get away. Letting the others walk in front of me I slipped off from them.Making my way through the woods brushing twigs and foliage out of my way I smiled coming closer and closer to the light. I got so close and I began to smell this horrific smell,bleach,hair dye,and Cat urine filled my nostrils.Not the best smelling mixture in the entire world to run upon in the middle fo The sector. “Oh god.”I frowned and covered my nose with my sleeve pulled down over my hand I put it against my nose and groaned. “God that’s nasty!”I said more to myself than anything and looked around.
The scene that lay before me seemed natural as Ever.A few deer I sensed were behind me a little ways eating away at grass.I could smell them. I steped forward and out of the woods and into a small area covered by moss and small dandelions which were spread across the ground and as natural rocks. I walked around hearing a faint whimpering noise and I frowned.
“Hello? Is anyone out their?”I bit my lip hearing the whimpering lightly stop and a heartbeat quicken. “Please I’m not going to hurt you..I’m here to help you…” I said soflty as I could to try and get the creature to come out and I frowned. “Please I wont hurt you.”I said sitting on a rock and caught the smell of blood instantly. Holding the sent in my nose I followed it to the source. A small boy lay holding his stomach a few yards from the little clearing. He grasped his abdomen and he writhed in pain whining and whimpering for help. Running over I lent down and looked at him worried.
“Oh my god…what happened to you? Who did this to you?” I asked lifting his hand from the blood pouring out of the wound and gasped lightly. The area bloodshot and red, A bite wound gaping out showing it’s self more prudent than anything. Blood pooling on the ground I gulped and touched his hand laying it back over the wound. I opened my mouth to say something but he stopped me.
“I….they…go…”He gulped in one big breath. He coughed a couple times and he layed his head back on the ground and he growled. Buting my lip I stood him to his feet and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. “Come on I’m going to get you help.” I said simply and took a few steps holding his weight against me I could tell he was in pain.
”Whats your name?”I asked holding him and took a few steps forward.
“Im….K-Kyson.”He wheezed out. His feet didn’t want to move and I groaned heaving him up. We made it a few yards and I had to stop to catch my breath. I was strong but this boy was bigger than I and a lot heavier than I thought. Looking up at him I saw his eyes change in demeanor and fall into the back of his head. The bleeding began to slowly come to a stop and I looked down at myself seeing I was covered in blood…his blood. I layed him down on a broken down tree and I sighed.
See! You should have followed along with the group and went with them! And we wouldn’t be in this predicament!
My wolf scolded me and I rolled my eyes.
Hearing a limb break behind me I jumped to my feet. Tired or not I had to be alert if I was going to get Him and I home safely
“Awh come on Allen! The boy is gone…its not like he’ll be back at any time soon so lets go pick on another pack of muts!”A grizzly voice sounded through the frigid air.
“SHUT UP! I told you he escaped was before I had planned you idiot! Why do you think were out here?Hm? For fun…no were here because that boy needs to be killed or he could be used against us! Now shut your mouth and go look on the east side.” Another stronger voice snapped and I gulped ducking down behind some of the fallen tree where Kyson and I were hiding. The voices seemed to be walking off and I turned my head back to Kyson who was turning whiter and looking sicker by the minutes passing.
“You stay here and keep quiet and I will go get help, alright?Don’t move or try to do anything while I’m gone.I’ll be back soon.” I waved and took off running back in which the way I came.
Feeling my feet fly over the ground my wolf grinned happily,she wanted me to phase and run.However I wouldn’t let her, Not now…now wasn’t the time to go for a playful run. Kyson needed me and I couldn’t talk to anyone as a wolf. So I ran faster smiling as I heard water splashing and the faint laughter from Natalie and Pierson. Coming through the woods my feet hit the sand and the smell of salt hit my nostrils. Dashing forwards making my way to the fire I gasped for air and put my hands on my knees.
“Oh my god Rayna!” I heard Natalie yell.
“Rayna are you alright!?”
“Of course shes not alright look at her shes covered in blood!” Pierson snapped taking my arm and he looked down at me. “What happened to you?!”He growned moving a piece of hair out of my face.
“Rayna!”Snapped a voice and I was pulled away from Pierson and on Cade’s lap. “Baby what happened…why are you covered in blood baby girl?”He asked worriedly looking down at me wiping blood off of me with his hand. “And why are you covered in blood?!Are you hurt! Who did this to you!”He growled holding me tighter and I gulped and looked up at them.
“No its not me I’m fine and I’m not hurt at all I promise! But you have to help me save my friend who’se in the woods! Their going to come back to kill him if we don’t hurry and soon!!"
