Here's another chapter (: The song is on the side, I've been obsessed with it all day! Happy reading (:
Chapter 6:
The next morning I woke up knowing it wasn’t going to be a good day. The sky was grey, and it looked like it was going to rain at any moment. I pulled my hood on over my ballerina bun on the top of my head and walked down the street towards the bus station. My dad couldn’t take me to work today because he had to work himself. I sat in a seat near the back and put my head phones in. By the time I reached the studio it was raining, and I looked down at my black high tops as I splashed through a puddle. “Just great,” I muttered at my wet feet. Once I was inside the studio I kept my hood on and my head down hoping I wouldn’t have to face any of the contestants. I was listening to Cough Syrup by Young the Giant when I ran into someone’s hard chest making me fall to the ground.
“Hey! Watch where your-“ I started yelling when I looked up and saw a pair of sea blue eyes staring back at me.
“I’m sorry, I should have been watching where I was going…” he had an American accent. He looked to be about eighteen and his sandy hair was perfectly tousled.
“Tha-that’s ok,” I squeaked out.
He laughed, “Do you work here?”
“Yeah, I’m a makeup assistant. What about you?” I said standing up straight.
“I’m one of the musicians who are going to play every week with the singers. I’m Colby,” he stuck out his hand for me to shake.
“Anabelle,” I said shaking it lightly.
“Nice to meet you Anabelle, but I have to go get going. See you later?” he smiled at me.
“Yeah,” I said as I walked down the hall and into the makeup room.
“Well someone sure looks excited to be here,” I whipped around to see Louis sitting in one of the makeup chairs.
“Good god Louis, you nearly gave me a heart attack,” I grabbed my heart.
“Sure, sure. Do you know what’s wrong with Liam?” he said getting straight to the point.
“Nope…”I said unconvincingly. I went and put my bag down in the corner of the room, turning off my iPod.
“You do Anabelle. Just tell me,” he whined, “Ever since the party on Sunday Liam has been moping about and just listening to his iPod.”
“Nothing happened,” I said quickly.
“Anabelle…”
“Ugh fine! Liam was about to kiss me then my Dad pulled up and he started acting weird. There that’s what happened,” I huffed.
“Hmm, thanks! And why are you wet?” he asked confused.
“It’s raining outside,” I gave him a flat look.
“Oh! I didn’t notice, want to come hang out with me and the boys?” he said with a grin.
“No, I don’t think so…I have to find Liz. I’ll see you at lunch?” I smiled at him.
“Yeah! Bye Belly!” he said giving me a hug and leaving. I sighed and pulled out my phone calling Liz and asking where she was. She told me to bring my laptop and meet her in the cafeteria. Once I reached the cafeteria I saw a whole bunch of people sitting around one of the tables. I was looking around for Liz when I saw a hand rise. “Over here Anabelle!” Liz called from across the room.
I took a seat next to her, “What are we doing?”
